Great for re-purposing a small case
Recently, I started a new hobby where I would have to carry a small suitcase around with my equipment in. The dimensions of these sponge inserts fit a cabin size suitcase brilliantly.I just had to cut out the shapes of my equipment (which was easy as the whole sponge is cubed and perforated - easy to cut out the sections you do not need).Saved me having to buy a whole case and instead, take this cheaper option to recycle my old cabin case which is now deemed too big to be a free cabin case for standard short haul flights.

Important Information
There are a couple of things to know about this foam; The first thing is that for shipping it has been vacuum-packed to within a millimetre of its existence, so the first thing you will need to do is remove all the packing and just leave it alone for about 30 mins. This will allow it to expand back up to its actual size. The second thing is that the removable 'cubes' that make up the thick part are only joined together by about 2mm of foam. This is what makes it so easy to work with, but also means that leaving just a single 'row' in between compartments will likely break. I recommend leaving two or three such rows in between compartments.I used these pieces to refurbish an old flightcase to make custom-sized compartments and it worked excellently, once I had worked out the above points.

Not as described
Be CarefulYou have been warned. The foam sheets arrive vacuum packed as described in the video. The thin sheets are NOT pick and pluck, just thin foam.As you need to expand the thicker pick and pluck foam back to full thickness, you soak in warm water, USE AS LARGER SINK/BATH AS POSSIBLE TO KEEP THE FOAM FLAT, do NOT bend and scrunch, do NOT wring out as the video shows or the structure will break apart. See picture. In hindsight think it would have been better to just leave to expand in the room air.Other P & P brands in my gun case for example needed to be tugged hard to peel out the shape.Value for money, no, pick and pluck appears to be at a premium, would have expected for the price all material to be pick and pluck, poor inaccurate written description.

Smaller that advertised
Although the product is very good quality. The depth of the foam is less than 3cm after it has decompressed. Supplied vacuum packed to less than 15mm

Easy to use
The foam is very easy to use, I found using a steak knife cut it better than a craft knife.Foam is very soft so even if you cut the shape smaller than the object you’re packing, you can squeeze it in for a snug fit.The 10mm foam is just for tops and bottoms so it doesn’t have the removable squares, but it still cuts easy enough. The foam comes vacuum packed so it takes 10-20 minutes to fluff up to full size.Looks like a very professional way of packing things.

Works fine. Does the job.
Like many people, when you first open these you think "Arghhh, that's not the 5cm depth it's supposed to be. Scam. These are going right back!". Give them a day and I found they expanded to more or less their alleged size. Some people mention having to get them wet to expand them. I didn't have to do anything like that. Having shouted at them when I opened them, I wandered off in disgust and when I came back the following morning they were big and beefy. They are very supportive. I stacked a tower of books on them and they barely budged which was somewhat surprising considering their initial diminutive size. Cutting out bits (for camera lenses, microphones et al) is a bit of a faff but you get there in the end. These seem a bit expensive for what they are but it's not like I'm going to be constantly buying them.
