Chilli Mash Company Strawberry Chilli Jam - 190g, Sweet and Spicy Spread

This is delicious! I love jam, I love chilli chutneys, put them together and what is not to love!I am not an overly spicy person and so when I saw scotch bonnet in the ingredients list, I panicked a little. It does have a bit of a kick, but if you like sweet chilli, it's a similar type of heat.The serving suggestions on the jar were to spice up Victoria sponge and cheesecakes, I think I would have been disappointed to taste chilli in a piece of cake. I didn't try it but I used it in sandwiches and with cheese and it was amazing, it really didn't last long. I am definitely buying again.

This jam comes nicely packaged in a glass jar with a stylish label. The jam is quite smooth and easy to spread. It has a sweet strawberry taste which is followed by a definite kick of chilli pepper! The combination will please anyone who likes sweet and spicy together and would make a nice addition to a quirky gift hamper. It's especially suited to pairing with cheese.

I'm not quite sure if it was just our jar, but the lid didn't feel like it was on properly. It felt like it was already loosened, and it didn't make any kind of pop sound as it opened, so there was no pressure build-up.When we opened it, it smelled ever so slightly musty, too, so we're kind of reluctant to eat any.The thing is, that musty smell might legitimately be the strawberry mixed with the chilli. Equally, the jam had a slightly brownish tinge. I just looked at another review and saw their jam is a lovely strawberry jam colour so I do think ours has been exposed to air or something. There was no mold, though, so I don't really know.We don't have anything to compare it to so it's entirely possible all of this is normal so I don't want to give it a bad review; equally, I can't give it a higher score because, either way, it smelled musty enough that we're reluctant to eat it.Not very helpful, this, apologies!

Unfortunately, I don't recommend this. The jam tastes very bitter with a hint of strawberry at first and then you are hit with even more bitter heat. The chilli and strawberry flavor don't complement one another. It tastes like if you poured a bit of savoury hot sauce on strawberry jam.

This is a great chilli jam, I’ve not come across a strawberry version before, and this would make a great gift in a food hamper, or for a foodie.Good strong taste, has a kick to it, noticeable chilli flavour. left my tastebuds tingling!

I love strawberry jam and I love anything with Chillies so I expected this to be a hit when I ordered it and I certainly wasn't wrong. The Jam has a slight reddish brown colour to it and I'd say resembles a chutney but you could definitely smell the strawberries as well as the spiciness that lies within. My wife isn't a great fan of chillies but even she quite liked this and being a chilly lover myself I've added it to pretty much anything I can and I love it. For me it rates highly on taste and texture and whilst not over powering the chilly "kick" lasts for some time after eating. I'll definitely be looking to order more of this. Highly recommended.

This is a sweet smooth strawberry jam with a distinct chilli flavour and spice. Definately something for moderation alongside some cheese and biscuits. You don't want to use this in your victoria sponge!!It's got a very smooth texture and I couldn't detect any strawberry pieces in it.I could still feel I had eaten a strong chilli flavour for an hour after having a taste of this from the spoon.It will make a great gift for any chilli jam lovers just because it is so different from the norm!

I am not completely sure of this jam. Its an interesting idea and the flavour is ok but i am just not sure there is really a need for chill in your strawberry jam. I mean if i want a chilli kick i would use hot sauce and if i want a sweet hit on my toast then i will use strawberry jam. Together i am not convinced. Saying that, the product seems to be a really good quality and it would make a nice gift for a foodie!
