Works out the kinks
My husband, son and I have all used this to stretch out different back muscles and love it. It was a learning curve as it’s a bit uncomfortable to lay on at first, but take some deep breaths and allow your back time to relax over it.

option with ability to adjust height. Just be aware it is quite firm
Review is for: Lumia Wellness Lumbar Traction Block, Chiropractic Back Stretcher for Pain Relief, Lumbar Decompression, Lumbar Lordosis & Thoracic Kyphosis CorrectionAs one who has had some lumbar pain and a bit of sciatica, it's important to remain a bit more flexible and loose. And honestly, I just don't do enough stretching. I got this to help with that.My immediate response to use here was hey, this will never work. It's too tall, and it's terribly hard. And it hurts! After a bit of use I found that the lowest level possible was easier, as was ensuring I was positioned correctly on it. When combining that with limited and controlled use it got better. Taking the slow approach seems reasonable to me, and I think over time things will improve. That said, there are the issues and concerns I've already called out. Despite my impressions I think it does exactly what it says it will with the exception of it being much more hard than I expected.Overall, if you a new to stretching this might not be right for you, I really can't say for certain. If you are used to using a more firm device this could be perfect.

Back stretcher that tries something different but does not succeed.
I really wanted to give this a better review but unfortunately I cannot. If anyone has ever used a foam roller to stretch their muscles or back you would probably be better off sticking with that. Foam rollers allow you to roll your body until you reach the desired spot and you can continue to stretch. This is a stationary hump that is very hard and doesn't compress so it does not feel very comfortable. Since it does not roll, you have to get your positioning perfect otherwise it just hurts. You have to lay it on the ground and then estimate where it will hit your lower back and then lower yourself slowly onto it so there is zero margin for error, you will either hit the spot you want stretched or you don't. Again, its not like a roller where you can just start at your neck and roll your back up and down it giving you a massage or stretching the area of your back that you need relief. You have to position it perfectly and lay back on it like you are letting yourself down from a crunch or sit-up, or you can lay on your side and then shift so that you lay your back slowly onto the block. Either way doesn't feel very good for me. What might be better for most, is to skip using the foam hump and just use the square pieces of foam they use to adjust the height of the hump. It comes with two and since they are lower in height than the block they actually work much better for me, which is just silly. I cannot recommend this foam block and suggest you use a foam roller instead because it is too high and too hard to get a comfortable stretch. I would suggest skipping using the smaller foam squares to get your back stretched and get rid of the base. 3 sad stars for this stretcher.

Well made, solid, good instructions. Very firm, just like it’s supposed to be!
I like that is very firm, just like its description states. The curve of it is smooth, the pieces that allow it to be height adjustable fit together very securely, and it’s a well made piece of equipment. It’s not terribly comfortable to lie on it. But that’s pretty much the point. It’s stretching and hopefully realigning your spine. I have scoliosis since forever, and it’s only recently (as I’ve gotten older) started causing me sciatic pain. Certain stretches have helped relieve and mitigate that pain, and this makes achieving several of those stretches as simple as lying on the floor with my butt on a block. It feels good to me, just like a stretch should. It’s light, portable, easy to use, and I’m pleased with my acquisition. I’d bet my husband will use it too for his occasional back/neck/shoulder pains. Foam rollers aren’t comfy either, but they help. If we ever get it dirty, the surface will clean up nicely, and since it won’t get smooshed and break down over time, I’d bet this will last and do its job for years.
