If you are asking me to change this, your asking the wrong person. I'm a consumer just like you. I bought them because my teen and adult sons wanted them for our vacation in Mexico. They liked the look.

Q: Does the metal look cheap?

These glasses are very sturdy and have a decent weight. I have 2 pair. They are certainly not thin metal. I don't remember how long I've had them(certainly over 6 months now) and I wear them in rotation with others. No issue at all.
