To be honest, I don't use turmeric for cooking, in any major way, I use it by putting it in capsules and taking it for my arthritis. I was a bit surprised by the fact that this came ground a little courser than I'm used to, I'm used to a fine yellow powder and this was courser grind and maybe a little browner, though I'm not sure about the color, maybe they use more of the root, including the 'rind'. I don't know how the courser grind would affect cooking, but it's kind of been a plus for what I use it for. I use a capsule filler because I use so much of it and the capsule filler helps not turn my hands so yellow. The coarser grind helps with the capsule filling and also turns my hands less yellow. It's the real thing, I waited awhile and to see if it works the same as other turmeric and I can say that yes, it works just the same, so the coarser grind does not make it a lesser product for what I use it for, but I have no idea what the courser grind would do for cooking. I thought I'd review this product so that there wouldn't be a surprise at the courser grind for someone who is looking to buy it.

I mix one tea spoon with hot water every morning and drink it as a tea, post workout. Turmeric is supposed to be great for recovery and inflammation, so as an athlete in my 40s I gotta do everything I can to keep going. I actually enjoy the taste and will continue to use it. It certainly can't hurt.

This is one of the worst turmeric i ever bought. Very bitter seems spoiled.

The delivery time was minimal (despite the distance involved) and easily beat Amazon's anticipated delivery date. The turmeric powder received is high quality and at a fair price. I like that Banyan is environmentally conscious.

Excellent, I take as part of a supplement shot every morning with neem powder and honey.

Great product, have been using it daily in addition to Amla powder to reduce leg pain. Seen good effects. Also have used it along with neem juice to prevent infections during my crown surgery( as I was allergic to many antibiotics ). I also give a small amount to my kids when they have, cold, cough or sore throat ( in addition to raw honey and ginger juice) . I mix it with warm milk and honey for kids sometimes instead of warm water. I found another product which costs much less than this on amazon ( need to try it out if it has the same effects).But in all a great product, will definitely recommend.
