Q: can this item be used in the oven to keep food warm and prevent it drying out

I would not use this in an oven as I would think exposure to a heat source could damage it. Also I doubt it would keep food warm as it is made of a fine open mesh that allows air to get through. I think it is mainly used for food hygiene to keep bugs and flies away from food left out on a table. Hope this helps.

Well not shore I only cover it over thing that I want to cover food

I cannot perceive a reason for using this item forthat purpose. I always use Roasting bags. Clear heat resistant plastic bags, give all the browning to meat without the splatter on the oven lining. They can be found in most supermarkets I understand.

Q: Would this fit on a 29cm diameter bowl?

Well if I said the internal base diameter is 33 cms and the height at the centre is 16 cms. Does that help? I have covered layered sponge cake, that was baked in a 20 cm cake tin, 4 layers each 25 mm thick plus filling in between, and the cover didn't touch the finished cake at all. I hope that this helps you to decide to purchase these excellent mesh covers, I purchased 4 they're so good.
