A Gripping Adventure that Puts You in Control of the Narrative
Having just finished playing this product on my Nintendo Switch, I can confidently say it delivers an immersive experience that fans of The Walking Dead series will truly appreciate. Combining elements of action, strategy, and deep storytelling, this game pulls you into the haunting world of the undead in a way that feels both fresh and nostalgic. From the outset, the game's graphics stand out. The art style captures the dark, gritty atmosphere of the comic and TV series beautifully, creating an engaging backdrop for your adventure. The character models are well-designed and recognizable, which added to my enjoyment as I interacted with beloved characters. What sets this title apart is its unique gameplay mechanics that allow you to shape the narrative. As you navigate through the story, your choices matter—significantly influencing how the plot unfolds and how characters interact with you. This feature kept me on my toes, prompting me to think carefully about each decision. I found myself replaying certain sections just to explore alternate outcomes, which added to the game's replay value. The combat system is straightforward yet engaging. While it can get a bit intense during action sequences, the controls are responsive and intuitive. I appreciated the balance between strategic planning and real-time decision-making, as I had to think on my feet during encounters with walkers and hostile survivors alike. One of the most impressive aspects of this product is its ability to evoke emotion. The narrative is rich and layered, exploring themes of survival, loss, and morality. The character development is deep, and I felt a genuine connection to the individuals I was guiding through this apocalyptic landscape. Some scenes were gut-wrenching, leaving me reflecting on the choices I had made. Moreover, the sound design contributes significantly to the overall experience. The voice acting is top-notch, capturing the essence of the characters and enhancing the emotional weight of the story. The ambient sounds of the world—creaking buildings, distant moans, and the rustle of leaves—immersed me further into the chilling environment. If you’re a fan of The Walking Dead franchise or enjoy narrative-driven games, this product is an absolute must-play. It successfully combines gripping storytelling with strategic gameplay, making it a standout title for the Nintendo Switch. Whether you're navigating difficult moral dilemmas or battling the undead, you'll find yourself fully engaged in this unforgettable journey. I highly recommend it!

The game goes along with the programme pretty well. Enjoy playing the game as well. Graphics could be a bit better but other than that a great game

Glitchy, Buggy, Unplayable Game.
Considering the reviews I’d read before hand I ignored them and really gave this a go. As someone who also liked the previous Survival Instinct game, I also was liking this and looking past the constant glitching, poor graphics and general game issues. But it got to the stage where I was basically halfway through the game and unable to progress any further due to the game physically not allowing me to progress any further past a mission in the prison where you have to chase someone. No matter what I done, it kept stating game over even though I literally done as all walkthroughs had done on YouTube and how the game is supposed to be played. I even started the entire level from scratch numerous times to try and chance the outcome but even this didn’t work. The game is terribly bugged and I’m really disappointed I wasn’t able to finish this game and had to send back for a refund.

A buggy mess that leaves out key characters
What sounded like a promising premise wound up being a disappointment thanks to a mix of audio bugs, game crashes and coding mistakes. However it's biggest crime is the omission of key characters. While characters like Jim and Jacqui are barely noticeable in their absence, characters who many believe to have been done a disservice in the show compared to their comic book counterparts, such as Andrea (and by extension Amy) and Tyreese are unforgiveable oversights that haunt the entire experience. The game executed it's decision making in an acceptable, but not overly-ambitious manner, with each choice boiling down to Character A dies or Character B dies, with all but one playable character having exactly one possible death, meaning if a character lived past their determinant choice, they were with you the rest of the game. This means the game, really, can be experienced in its entirety in two playthroughs. There were issues to "resolve" at certain points between missions, but none had any consequence past one choosing whether Beth or Maggie accompanied you on one mission.Several times throughout the game the music, dialogue or combat audio would just stop, including dialogue in the cutscene before the final fight! If I hadn't had subtitles turned on I wouldn't have known what was going on for half the game.Throughout the game various characters die, or are otherwise unavailable. I had two separate points where a character being held in Woodbury would be present at the prison, and twice in the final level I had a dead character appear in place of a living one (most aggregiously after I'd died Lori was swapped with Carol, who had died around the halfway point of my game). The game crashed at least four times during my playthrough, which was impressive considering the relative simplicity of the game.In terms of gameplay, the combat is acceptable, but there are so many bugs, enemies getting stuck running into objects due to poor AI and pathing, and in a few cases walkers just running through a solid fence, unable to get back onto the playable area and just running in place while you riddle them with bullets. The game opted to give the player an auto-aim and lots of ammo, but decided that they would balance this with too many enemies to code properly and the over-used trope of "big zombie bullet sponge" that seems to have appeared in every zombie game made in the last 20 years. All in all, while I am a proud fan of The Walking Dead, Destinies will be getting traded in to cex at the earliest opportunity. Maybe in a year or so when it's on sale for under £10 it will be worth a look, but even at the low price (as far as PS5 games go) of £35, this one just isn't worth it, even if you are obsessed with the franchise as I am.
