STAY AWAY FROM THIS WATCH
UPDATE 7/06/2023I got the watch back from repair, it was working like it was brand new...for a couple months. Now it's acting like the month before it completely glitched out the first time. Not responding to commands, vibrating for no reason, losing connection to the phone when the phone and watch are on the same hand.STAY AWAY FROM THIS WATCH. Buy it, IF IT'S $20.00. All this headache is not worth $229.UPDATE 5\03\2023My watch completely froze 2 weeks ago. Would not respond to any command. Absolutely no response. No water damage, nothing broken, it just stopped.I've had the watch for less than 5 month and it's already dead. This is a $240 watch.I send the watch in repair, it's still under warranty and Fossil is saying it will cost me $110 to repair. That's nearly half of the total cost of the watch.Don't buy this watch at all. You've been warned.UPDATE 2\14\2023The watch becomes extremely slow and glitchy when the SoundCloud music app is playing. All the other music apps that I have such as YouTube music, Samsung Music player, YouTube, The watch works fine. It's just SoundCloud right now.END UPDATEThis watch definitely has some pros and cons.I am at my second week with around 30% battery left. I love the battery life even though I'm coming from a hybrid watch that used replaceable batteries that lasted half a year. But I am still satisfied with the battery life given its capabilities.I don't understand why this watch is not able to let me respond to texts. Alexa clearly has the capability to fulfill commands from my watch to my phone. I was able to add pistachios to my shopping cart through my watch, so it's clearly not a problem of understanding what I am saying and going through my phone and doing things. Seems like it was a feature that was taken out for the more expensive watches, rather than it technically can't text back. Please add this feature in a fossil update. But as it stands right now, if fossils goal is to keep us away from our phones with being able to look at her watch, it's only going halfway. About 90% of the texts I read on my watch, I have to respond to the text, so I have to pull out my phone. The custom faces for the watch are really good, but we need more options, specifically a digital time display to add to a custom face. It can be in the little circles, or that big digital clock as a separate option instead of it only available in that pre-designed face. In the next update please add custom digital clock options.I went to the fossils store nearby, and they said not to put this watch in the shower or bath or anything more submergeable than that. This watch is only able to withstand splashes of water from washing hands or sweat from working out. Anything else and you are going to have a broken watch possibly.Don't bother flicking your wrist to watch the hands move. It's very unreliable, I found myself flicking my wrist like a madman trying to make the hands move. Also the light on the watch turns on by itself but only in the dark. It's rare but it happens. I don't know what triggers it.Other than that so far so good. I really like the look of it. I can't have the watch on too tight or my wrist will break out in a rash in the area of the head.Try to get it when it's bellow $200 because these cons are pretty bad, and not worth $229.If it was $180, that would be fine.

Annoying quirks and terrible app experience. Could all be fixed with a software update.
Got this as a middle ground between a regular watch and an Apple Watch. The form factor is great, but the software functionality leaves a lot to be desired. The backlight is very uneven. It is still functional so I can deal with it, but it's super noticeable and strange-looking. It also shuts off too early when I'm trying to do interactive tasks with the watch like setting a timer or alarm. The way it should work is that if I turn the backlight on and start pushing buttons, the timer for the backlight to turn off should reset every single time I release a button so it stays on the entire time I'm using the watch. Instead it shuts off and I need to tap the watch again to reenable it. Just stay on.Th notification system can also. First off, the notification icon is persistent and there is no way to dismiss it other than scrolling through every notification.I have no desire to use this watch as a notification feed. Storing 15 notifications is entirely too many, I will never use this watch to go through all of those. If I want to review a bunch of notifications I will use my phone. With the watch, all I ever want to do is glance at a notification in the moment to see if something is urgent and I need to pull out my phone.Lastly, why when I get a notification do you prompt me to see if I am sure I want to clear my notification? Just do it! You're just a ****ing watch. I don't give a **** if you don't have my notifications. Stop giving me *one more button to press* to confirm I want to do something that I want to do every single time. What this results in is every time I look at the watch there is an annoying notification icon that I need to scroll through 30 notifications to get rid of, so I just click the down button for 10 seconds until the watch says "no new notification." This is the most ass-backward workflow I could imagine.Just let me hide the icon ffs!The app is also super hard to navigate and is full of ads. I have literally negative interest in buying any other fossil product because of it. The app should be a tool solely to configure the product I already paid you money for. It is *not* a line to my attention for you to fill with marketing and solicitations for more products. I am not a consumer resource for you to pump cash out of. Why, why, why do you bury useful features like setting alarms at the end of a carousel to buy your stupid ****ing Barbie/Star Wars/Justice League watches? Idgaf. I just want to set an alarm. Why do I have to scroll through all of that? I paid you for the watch. Why are you interrupting me using it to try to sell me more watches (THAT AREN'T EVEN HYBRID WATCHES!!!)?Other than all of that, the watch looks great and tells time and works well enough for the price.

Charging ring separated in less than a year
I mostly liked this watch while it lasted. About 10 months into use, one of the charging rings popped off due to failed adhesive (bad design/ poor adhesive choice). Apparently, the adhesive deteriorates and lets go. This is definitely affecting a ton of people who have bough these. The watch would not charge anymore. Warranty return process was a PITA so I gave up on it and just threw the $180 watch in the trash. I am disappointed and do not recommend this watch due to the design flaw.

Constant connectivity issues
I liked the look of this watch when I bought it and still do. However, I have some serious remorse about buying this watch now. It is constantly losing connection with my phone, sometimes it reconnects on its own, other times Ive spent the better part of an hour troubleshooting the issue. The battery does not last as long as they claim. It lasts about the same as any touch screen watch. The spo2 sensor and the HR do not seem to work consistently either. It is supposed to track the spo2 periodically, but it will go a week or more at a time without a reading. The HR seems to only work periodically as well. Overall pretty disappointed with the purchase and wish it wasn't too late to return.
