A Cut Above!
I purchased these shears for my wife, who is a licensed beautician. It is important to keep in mind that at this price, you are not buying top of the line professional grade shears. To compare these to $300 or higher shears is not realistic. The shears appear to be well made. They are sharp, handle nicely and cut well. As with most "economy' shears I would anticipate they will dull a bit quicker than higher grade products. My wife uses these as a backup. If you are a working professional who cuts on a regular, I would suggest these only as a backup/emergency pair. If, on the other hand, you plan to use these for yourself, your family, or other light use (something less frequent that "every day") you will probably like these very much.As far as the product itself, these multi-colored shears are the e45 RAZECO model. The shear length is 5.5" and they are constructed of J2 420C stainless steel. They are "titanium coated" but its debatable what, if any, durability this adds. It should add some hardness to help retain sharpness, but a coating is simply not as good as a blade which contains titanium. The shears have a removable finger rest as well as rubber inserts to cushion the finger holes. A stainless steel grade of 420 is considered to be "cutlery grade."The package include a black vinyl triangle "pouch", not a case, so be advised should you visit the manufacturer's web site and see the nicer case in the product description. They also include a clear, plastic tip cover. This is for shipping, but you can use it if you like for storage.Survorna also sells a higher level product line. Those are the RAZPRO line. The shear blades are made of 440C grade steel, which is better than the RAZECO's 420 grade. Other differences, depending on the exact model: the finger rest is curved (but not detachable), the thumb hole can swivel, and the case is nicer. The "pro" line sells for only a little more than the economy line. Again, at the price point, I do not think you can compare either product line to professional grade shears. For the price, and light usage, I think these scissors are more than adequate, and the non-daily user will be quite pleased with the performance. I might have rated these a 5, but for two things: I need to use the shears a bit longer to gauge their durability, and the maker has to update their website so they don't mislead consumers by advertising a better case then is shipped with the product. If you are wondering about steel grades in general: 440 stainless steel comes several sub-grades, the most common being 440A, 440B, and 440C. The 440C contains the most carbon. This makes it the hardest of the 440 grades, and harder than the 420, so the 440 lends itself to better edge-retention. After 440 grade steel, you are looking at higher grade shears. The next grade up is S (contains cobalt), then V (contains vanadium and/or titanium), and ATS (contains cobalt, vanadium and titanium).IMPORTANT NOTE:Steel grade is just one important aspect of a shears' quality. The tempering process and overall workmanship also weigh heavily into the performance and life-span of the product.

Great Quality for Price - Worth it!
Update: Purchased in 2015 - after owning for a couple years it did lose tension. There is supposed to be a tension adjustment on the side however with screwdrivers etc we are not able to tighten back up. The blades are still sharp and it's a lovely little scissors but it can no longer cut hair efficiently well. Sometimes the hair bends or gets pulled instead of cutting. I would still consider it a decent value as the cost was so low when I purchased it - however I wish it had lasted 5 years instead of 2. I replaced with another popular brand sold in amazon that had an easier tension knob.Scissors are comfortable in hand and cut extremely well. I am not a professional, I cut family hair at home.I still will say confidently that these are an extremely good value for price. They have a nice solid feel to them, and are weighted enough to indicate their quality. The open and close action of the scissors is very smooth. They cut hair very well.Negative: The sheath they come with is cheap and kind of tacky, however I still appreciate it because my family knows they cannot use the scissors I keep in sheaths to cut anything without my permission. I have fabric scissors and hair scissors that I keep sheathed to ensure they aren't mistakenly used to cut construction paper or something that would dull them.

Excellent Pair of Scissors
Let me start off by saying that I am not a barber, and I do not cut hair even as a hobby. However, I have started cutting my son's hair out of convenience and to save a few bucks. So, this review is from the point of view of someone who knows nothing about hair cutting scissors, but purchased these, used them, and am happy with the results. Since no one has reviewed these scissors, I thought I'd at least throw my 2 cents in.I have never used anything but the cheap Wahl scissors that come in the clipper kit, and was looking for a reasonably priced alternative. These scissors went beyond what I was expecting.Pros:- Semi-blunt scissor tips prevent accidental stabbings (which I prefer to avoid). My previous pair of scissors had sharp points, which didn't make any sense to me- Great case to keep the scissors in good shape- Removable rubber rings for grip, and to accommodate different finger sizes- Removable finger rest- Very sharp, seemingly high build quality, nice finish- Scissors can be disassembled for sharpening- Price: for the price, these are a ton better than the cheap scissors that come in kitsCons:- I thought that the finger holes were a tad small, but removing the rubber ring in the thumb fixed the problem for me.- Scissors are not exactly as pictured. The case is different, as is the name engraved on the blade. I don't know if the scissors in the picture are better or worse, but this is the only reason I didn't give the scissors 5 stars. At a minimum, the seller should update the information so there is no confusion. I could care less what brand my scissors are, but if a seller did this with a pocket knife or other product I'm interested in, I'd be upset if the brand was switched on me. Again, maybe what I got is better, but either way, the description should be accurate. I uploaded my own pictures so you can see what you'll get.As I said in the beginning, I am no expert, and can only compare these to the junky ones I had been using. However, I can say that these scissors cut a ton better than my $10 pair, and are well worth the money for me.
