I admit my expectations were quite low for the price, but these are actually quite good. Certainly nothing fancy like you'd get with Thule or Yakima, and though I haven't used those brands, I'm betting the installation was not nearly as easy.I put these on before taking a 2.5 hour trip on the highway with a Yakima rocketbox on it, figured that would be a good test. I dare say they are quieter than the factory crossbars on my 2016 rav4, which seems strange, maybe it was the air gap it created between the cargo box and the roof. End of the trip everything was still nice and tight, exactly where I put it.Installation is kind of a pain, having to screw that stupid Allen screw in and out for the clamping is difficult unless the bar end is far enough out from the clamp to clear the end of the wrench. In hindsight, I should have used a drill. The other difficulty, is the Allen bolts with the rail slides on the bottoms have no explanation in the instructions, they are not mentioned or pictured anywhere. I figured they must be stops to prevent the bars from slipping side to side, so I tightened them on the inside side of the clamps, right up against them.They've been on for a couple weeks now, still rock solid. Now I should be able to fit my kayak next to my cargo box.

So, I had high hopes, but they fell short. The racks installed easily. They seemed sturdy, I wished the metal angles fit better into the door channel, but I understood... they are universal, they aren't going to fit every car perfectly. Anyway, I installed them. Drove for a week with them on the roof without carrying any weight (I was hoping to use them to carry my canoe). There is some added wind noise, not super loud, but very noticeable; again I expected that despite the reviews saying they were quiet. One morning I went out to leave for work and noticed one of the racks sitting weird; upon inspection one of the metal ratchet straps had snapped!!.. with no load. I am so glad that didn't snap when I had a canoe strapped to it on my roof. Best case the canoe would have flown off damaging my car... worse case I could have cause a major accident with it hitting cars behind me. In short, for me, on a 2017 Chevy Cruze Hatchback, this product did not work. I hope others have more success.

Holds in place very well. There is a little bit of a whistle when going down the road. Very happy with it.

The rack as a whole is better than expected,The plastic for the feet/towers feels cheap and I don't expect it to last,fit my 2011 fusion nicely with no modification, Will make trips to the ski hill easier!overall better than expected only downfall is the plastic towers are on the low quality side, the plastic didn't fill the die completely and there are some voids on the inside of the feet.For what it is, Good Deal I'm pleased!

Fit my 2021 Jeep grand Cherokee perfectly and was so easy to install I did it myself!!! Looks fantastic and very sturdy. Highly recommend.

Poor fitment out of the box unless the distance between the rain gutter/roof indent is very specific. Extremely unclear description on item for sale within Amazon description. The towers foot needs to be inside of the gutter rail groove according to the instructions included in the box . However nothing mentions you cannot mount these outside of the gutter rail within the Amazon description from the manufacturer. This necessitates, adjusting the overall width and cutting of the aluminum bars and disassembling the tower/ratcheting mechanism. Not a problem if you’re handy and have the correct tools which. Remove the 3x Phillips screws, remove plastic cover, drill out the 2 rivets, remove mechanism, and cut off necessary amount to properly place tower feet. I also had to file and modify the roof/door clips in order to get the ratcheting strap to even rotate and correctly attach within the roof clips. product is very nice upon unboxing however, quality control is highly lacking during installation. I have installed higher end roof racks before, and everything goes smoothly. Expect significant road bumps with this as well as little surprises along the way. I also recommend a nylon locking nut with the largest washer you can fit in the underside tower attachment to prevent cracking of the tower and half-barrel nut. I also recommend reduced torque in this area to allow toggling of the tower base without excessive resistance. If you over torque the nut on the stud, you will damage the tower. The nut just needs to be secured two finger tight with a small ratchet and beyond that it will deform and crack the plastic. You should expect this for the price. It is a good system. I believe if you are handy enough to overcome the quality control issues it is definitely an affordable and acceptable system for the price point.

I was Skeptical of buying something this inexpensive for carrying my kayaks and paddle boards but unbelievable. This thing is awesome. It’s got locks very nice looking fits perfect the only thing I could find negative to say is that it does whistle a little when I have my windows down. I can hear it, but for this price he could whistle all day long.

Whoever designed the mechanism to release the ratchet is the worst human being on the planet. It is very complicated and to make it worse, they made one of the levers pronged so you get cut every time you inevitably slip while trying to release the latch.Further, this does not fit my car even though it was listed as a universal fit.Finally, it says that this is for a bare roof on the store page. However, the instructions state that these need to be placed within rain gutters which does not work for my car. I will be returning these for something else. The best thing I can say is that they look nice.TLDR: don't buy it.
