Easy to drill and grind.
This is good steel. It was easy to work with. Soft and easy to drill and grind. Made a blade and I love it. Good and thick. Will buy again!

I wanted to make a Bowie knife.
5160 is a tough alloy which is a good choice for larger blades. I was able to purchase a piece large enough for two blades for a very reasonable price. It arrived dead soft annealed and was easily worked with minimal grinding equipment. Fast shipping.

Legit 5160 very happy with the purchase best work knife I own.
Well I used this for a heavy duty Bowie knife for all purposes. After I forged and treated the blade I tested it by cutting a framing nail in half then a 2x4. After which it was still shaving sharp. lol It even cut through the bottom of a chain link fence when i was cutting weeds off the fence line. Still sharp... Patriot steel seems to be selling exactly what they're promoting good American made steel not Chinese garbage.
