It impresses the buyer in all segments
I am using this Nokia G42 5G phone for the past 4 days and i am happy with its operational outcome. Battery is impressive and comes for a day and half on normal usage. I am using a Airtel Sim which is a 5G ready sim card and the service is not up to the mark as the network juggles between 5G and 4G networks for every 10 minutes. But i am not blaming Nokia for it as it is the network issue of Airtel people and it might improve in coming days. What disappointed me is the camera settings. I thought i will get a 8 and 13MP camera settings along with the 50MP option. But only 50MP camera setting is available on the phone and the images clicked from this phone are Okay. But it does the work for a normal user. And it is irritating when the camera says photo processing is in progress when i need to take continuous quick shots. Furthermore, if the watermark option is enabled, the phone displays that device name and date, but doesn't have the option to display the time of taking the picture and that's a downside as there is no such option in the settings. Night mode captures pictures excellently in dark environments. As i am not a gamer i did not test for the game operations on this phone, yet!YouTube videos are impressive and even i am able to watch 4K videos on this phone. The content on the phone screen is also visible in direct sunlight and so again it went ahead of my expectations.Slight heating is being observed while charging. But not during YouTube video streaming of an hour or so.Charging of the phone is fast, as it charges 30% of phone in just half an hour and takes almost 1 hour 30 minutes to reach from 29% to 100%.It is working fine on my Suzuki Car Infotainment System. As i went for a factory reset of the touchscreen and then my Nokia device started to connect without any trouble. And the single speaker of this phone is also audible and as its placement is at the bottom of the device, the Ringtone sound is loud enough when it rings.I reside in the core of Hyderabad city and the calls are crystal clear as i am using Airtel 5G plus network. Only single sim card slot along with SD Card slot and if you want, you can use that SD Card slot as another sim tray to insert a 4G sim. I guess two 5G sim cards will not work and only 1 5G network will work on this phone.Anyhow, it all depends on the network operator and my Airtel 5G plus network is inconsistent and drops to 4G for every 10 minutes. So, i lodged an immediate online complaint to Airtel people via email and they gave me a time frame of 15 days and assured to provide me a consistent 5G network solution by then....hope so! But still the 4G speed is also good and i can access maps and upload videos and photos quickly to cloud when i am in my house terrace or second floor. After 4 months of this device use, when my phone is on 5G i can experience fast and unlimited downloads. But when it is on 4G it goes through the regular data limit. The Airtel network guys have worked well and have optimized the network to the core at my house and office. But at the rest of the places, only 4G network works and is displayed on the phone and is filled with data download restrictions. Also the power brick supplied has no NOKIA brand name on it, but it does the charging work as per our expectation and mind you, it doesn't have a wireless charging as it is a budget friendly phone. On February 6th, 2024 my device received a Android 14 update and so it received 1OS upgrade out of 2 as promised.......nice!

Best handset for 9000/-
Excellent 5G phone for 9000/-. Sturdy and visually pleasing overall, especially back panel.Handset-Specs very good.Night pics are very clear.Processing & routine tasks are butter smooth, in fact very fast when compared to my old 4G handset.I am a non-gamer so, did not try any games. However, Charger adapter is flimsy - It is ON for a second then OFF... ON....OFF. May be incompatible to standard sockets. I used a old charger... good enough. All in all, I am happy with NOKIA G42 5G.

Worst Purchase-Don’t ever buy it
I purchased the Nokia G42 5G on 22/07/2024 from Amazon, and it has turned out to be the worst purchase I have ever made. The charging port was tempered three times, and despite getting it repaired twice at the authorized service center, the issue has not been resolved. The charging jack is tempered again, and I am left with a faulty product after multiple repairs. This is incredibly frustrating, especially from a brand like Nokia, which I have always considered reliable. The repeated issues with the charging port make the phone practically unusable, and I am extremely dissatisfied with the overall quality of the device.I expected much better from a reputed company like Nokia. This has been a terrible experience, and I would not recommend this phone to anyone. Avoid this product if you value your time and money!
