Very comfortable. Wide feet needed a half size larger. UPDATE-IMPORTANT
I ordered the Merrell maob 3 mid in 11.5 wide. The fit was fine, but when I put on thicker socks it was a bit snug. Changing to 12 wide worked perfectly, it gave me a little more toe room that benefits from thicker socks for fall and winter walking. Sole of the shoe when walking is slightly firmer than expected, but was mentioned in reviews; I hope it breaks in a bit and softens up with some miles on them. Very happy at the price point of just above $100. Solid shoe and I'm happy with them.Update 08/31/2024. These are great mid hiking shoes........but I found amazing boots a day later. Go to REI buy a lifetime membership (30 bucks) and buy something cheap. Go back after 24 hours and buy a set of Danner 600 leaf GTX hiking boots for men (grizzly brown/Rodeo Red) and get $30 off. My boot code was "62302". They are on sale until September 2nd 2024 for $164, but if you get a member card and use it 24 hours later, you get lifetime membership and $30 off and you get these AMAZING boots for 132 and tax. If you have 11.5 in 4EE feet you will thank me later. If you have narrower feet stick with the maob 3 mids for half the price. I bought a pair of Danners 20 years ago and they are still amazing. No shade for the Merrell Moab 3, but for a wide foot the 62302 Danner is like a silk slipper. OMG I love these boots, I am so sorry Merrell......... but I found true love.

Fantastic shoes
Perfect fit. Excellent construction. My new favorite manufacturer……. Yes, I know, I’m late to the game. Still, I now own 3 pairs of Merrells. Just wore these for 14 hours straight with no break in. Very impressive, and very comfortable.

Comfortable out of the box.
I hesitated before buying these, as I had a pair of low Merrells that were not comfortable nor waterproof. I I was a faithful Timberland buyer, but they have really cheapened their boots. So, I finally broke down and bought these as they come in a wide width and were rated fairly highly on several different "best of" reviews. They were comfortable right out of the box. Wore them to mow very wet grass and feet remained dry (only time will tell how they fare in Adirondack weather). I also wore them on a hike into a remote lake up north, good traction and protective footbed. The price is moderate, there are cheaper boots, but these seem pretty rugged in comparison. I hope to get several years out of them.

narrow toe box on boot is uncomfortable
I hike 4 miles everyday, rain or shine, snow or clear skies. For the past 90 days. 28 miles a week, approximately 112 miles a month or more. Anyway, got these boots 3 days ago, wore them twice on that four mile hike. The construction of the boot is good, it reminds me of a stretchy thick reinforced nylon sock. Don't know how waterproof it is yet but I can say that the comfort is off some. In my opinion the boot is too narrow, narrower than it should be and if it was a bit wider it would probably be more comfortable.I was wearing a pair of Nike Air Monarch's to do this daily 4 mile hike, sometimes I wear Carlsbad Wolverine boots, even wore a pair of Everboots and none of those caused my feet any damage, but these tight toed shoes, although they have outstanding treads on them, made my small toe on my right foot bleed long enough for a quarter sized stain on my sock. Which surprised me because I didn't exactly feel it and I the fact the material of the boot is so stretchy (it's not exactly the same as a pair of leather boots).I usually get foot wear a 1 size larger than my foot size, especially with Steel Toed boots, but with this pair of hiking boots I figured I'd go with 1/2 size larger but these boots run small in the toe area and squeeze your toes, the whole boot is basically like that. Walking on pavement there is so much tread on it that it feels like the heels are higher than they should be and the balls of the foot area is not very well padded.I put on a pair of thick wool socks but I had to squeeze my foot in the boot and it made it uncomfortable so I put on a thin pair and it was manageable. The thing is the boots are warm, even in 25 degree weather so I didn't need thick socks, in fact the boot fit best when I had no socks on at all but I'm not hiking 4 miles with no socks on.What sucks about buying boots online is that if they don't fit you have to go through the hassle of sending them back and ordering another pair, when that pair arrives it might not necessarily fit either, not the way you expect. Like I said, I've had the boots for 3 days, walked 8 miles over 2 days in them, the boots made my small toe bleed but without pain, but the treads give me so much traction that my legs don't get tired as fast and I have more endurance so it's a trade off. I'm hoping that over time the boots will stretch some and fit better, I'll just have to keep wearing them and find out. What I should have done is looked for this pair of boots or a another type of Merrill boots at a shoe store locally and tried on 1 size larger like I normally get. It's a case of live and learn, it's good to be certain that is for sure.

From Keen to Merrell
Keen fan for boots. Dansk for clogs. A bone spur left me searching for a softer foot bed with support for a high arch. Columbia was too narrow in the toe box. Merrell felt the best. I usually wear a 9W/40EU in ladies & 7.5R in men’s. Ordered a 1/2 size up in Merrell & a men’s 8R fit the best. Good arch, soft foot bed with firm soul, adequate toe box, well made, 1-day break in period. Glad I purchased these. Sent back 3 other pairs. Thank goodness for speedy return policy.

Best budget boots around.
Excellent boots with hardly any break in time. Comfortable out of the box. Would recommend.

Comfortable as soon as you put them on
Been wearing them for years. Hold up well. True to size. Use memory foam insoles in mine instead of factory. I’m old and feet get sore.

Best boots I've EVER owned
Absoltely the best boot I've worn for working in. I own and operate a pressure washing business and although the boot will get soaking wet with water, my feet are never wet. Outstanding water proofness. So many "waterproof" boots and shoes I've tried and they all caused my feet to get soaking wet witin minutes. Not this one. Have owned them over a year and getting ready to buy another pair as a back up pair and for casual use. These are also the most comfortable boot I've ever worn as well. Can't recommend highly enough.
