Q: How big of opening should you have for this door? If it's a 36'' door, does it need to be 34''?

34 inches would be good since that would provide an inch overlap on both sides. We did double doors and have about an inch on both sides, and it looks great.

Q: Can this be used as an exterior door leading up to an egress concrete precast stair and plexiglass bilco door? The bilco door is sealed.

I would not use this for exterior! Interior door not so bad but it was a pain putting it together! Comes in three panels and the screws are very small which it make it unsafe! They should have thought about bigger screws and adding washers to make more secure! I won’t recommend this product!

No, sliding glass doors don’t have a system to locked up
