I was looking for a cover since the keys were already getting scratched and came across this one. Very happy with this cover. It has a strong build quality to it and looks really nice. It seems extremely solid and I would bet you could run over it with your car and it would be fine. I plan on getting a second one for my other key.One note, it does increase the size and weight of the key (see the attached picture). I personally like it, it feels really heavy duty, but it may not be for everyone. That said, if you want something that will keep the (very expenaive) BMW fob from ever getting damaged by other keys or dropping it, then you can't go wrong with this.

This is a very sturdy metal cover for the BMW X5 key. It arrived in a small presentation style box. It consists of a silicone cover for key, an outer metal cover, the metal key chain, rubber extension for the key chain, and small black screws that are to be used to attach the silicone or rubber extension to the metal key chain. It was not entirely clear how to put together since there were no instructions but I managed to figure it out fairly quickly. The screws are quite small and are somewhat difficult to screw in to both the metal cover and key chain extension. It is nice that they include a small screw driver and extra screws. The overall cover will do a good job of protecting the key. It highlights the knobs on the side of the key very well, however, it is somewhat heavy. Overall, I would highly recommend.

These are really nice. Not sure about the little tab for additional keys. I don’t put more keys on my fob so I’m good. This fob is substantial and will provide great protection when you drop it.

The product is exactly as advertised. It’s nice, heavy, and looks great. But it’s also significantly larger than the key fob. Certainly not for the minimalist! Install was straightforward.

Easy to assemble and it fit great! A bit heavy but, I should at least notice if I drop it in a store!

The key chain looks awesome however it depends upon inserting tiny screws into tiny holes to install the casing around the electronic light key. Two of the screws I tried to install into the groove were not tightening even though I followed the instructions, continually were just rolling without catching the grooves. Two of the blk screws were ok. I have to use my eye glasses repair kit screws to tighten the shell onto the key fob.

In the day and age where everything is cheap plastic, I was shocked to find that this key case was actual sturdy metal. Install is pretty easy and takes about five minutes and the product seems well put together all around. Very nice looking. It does add a little bit of bock to the key, but what are you going to do if you’re adding a cover to protect it? Assuming it holds up in the long run this is a solid product.
