This Brand is Awesome for Dry Eyes!! One Tube can last me 3 Months of Nightly use.. Of you use it Correctly... I don't know why it took me so long to try GenTeal Tears. I have been battling Chronic Dry Eye for the past year, off and on, as it arises. It is the most annoying ailment to have between the gritty and stringy discharge resulting from a dry tear duct to the constant sensation of feeling like you have something in your eye.CDE is maddening. I purchased both the PM formula and the daytime formula. Sadly, the tube for the daytime formula was damaged, so I have not yet been able to try it out. Amazon is replacing the tube and I should be able to try it out tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.The PM formula though is a miracle, in my opinion.The moment I applied as instructed I experienced immediate relief. That is not hyperbole, it is a solid fact.The ointment, which you squeeze into your lower eyelid is thick. It is made of white petroleum jelly and mineral oil. It seems an odd thing to put into your eye and the first few seconds after applying is a horrid experience as your vision blurs as greasy oil literally coats it. Then, as you blink, you experience the amazing sensation of vanishing dry eye. Gone is the scratchy, itching, sticky sensation. It is replaced with the sensation of all-encompassing relief. Sweet, sweet relief.I have tried all kinds of eye drops and have never found release from the discomfort of CDE. Until now. I was able to sleep through the night and when I awoke in the morning, my eye was still mostly fine. The PM formula lasted all night and I was able to sleep peacefully, free from discomfort.I can't wait to try out the daytime formula. If it works anything like the PM formula, I will have found the miracle cure combination that has eluded my for this past year.

This stuff is great! Works as advertised: keeps ones eyes lubricated all night. One of my eyes has a damaged skin layer over the cornea, which happened years ago but only started bothering me when I moved to a climate that dries out the eyes. I used GenTeal Gel before this, but it didn't last all night. They are different chemical compounds, the gel being carbomer 980 and hypromellose in a base; whereas this Ointment is a simple mix of mineral oil and white petrolatum. One could even make it up himself from drugstore items, but, then, it wouldn't be sterile! The only con to this is that it affects your vision; you can't see clearly when it's in your eye. No problem if you're sleeping.Thus, for night-time relief, this is what you want.

I bought this on my sister's recommendation. I had dry, itchy eyes from Cataract surgery. I was anxious to try it but there was a slight problem: There is no way to open the tube without a hammer and chisel. I have to return it. In the meanwhile, my eyes got better enough that Systane eyedrops work well. IF there are instructions how to open, it's concealed with a white barcode strip. The reason for the 4* rating is that my sister swears by the stuff.

As far as RCE’s go, this lubricant *gel* alongside BlinkJoy’s Moisute goggles is be my “Cinderella” solution.Unlike petroleum based lubricants, the gel doesn’t glob up in my eyes and I can sleep much better than without it!!!

This helped a little for my dry eyes but the oily vision when it’s in my eyes is too much to bear for a mediocre result. Even when morning comes around, I have to use eye drops to help clear my eyes before putting in contact lenses or I see blurry vision all day. I would not buy this again.

Ever since I had LASIK earlier this year, I have had a problem with dry eyes. The dry eyes don't bother me in terms of itchiness or anything but my distance vision is much affected when my eyes get dry. As a result, I apply lots of drops throughout the day and have tried different drops to keep my eyes comfortable. This stuff is the best before bed. I also love the GenTeal severe eye gel which is lubricating and goes in the eye more like drops but this pm gel works the best. When I use this pm gel before bedtime, my eyes wake up feeling great, not dry at all and I dont need to use drops much during the day. When I first bought this gel, I had some problems applying it and my eyes were greasy and the gel didn't make it into my eyes. I realized that I need to look in the mirror when applying and put a small bit right into my lower lid. After I figured that out,this stuff became the perfect night time stuff for my dry eyes. I love this stuff, try it if you have dry eyes.
