Works great
This is something I purchased for a Nas but ended up using in my personal machine because it worked so well. Very happy with it.

Works well on Windows 10
At first it didn't work on Windows 10. I am using a Unify 10gb DAC cable and in order to get it to work in Windows 10 I had to force the line speed to 10gb (not auto) and poof it worked got an ip address and is now my primary connection. Driver installed as X520-1

Well worth the price!
This card works as advertised, which is all I could hope for. I mean, it doesn’t have a fit or color to report on. It works - and that means it’s fabulous!

Not compatible with Windows 11
This card doesn’t work with Windows 11. That should have been made clear by the vendor. I returned it.

Intel SFP+ x4 ...amazing!
I used this x4 Intel SFP+ card to replace a x8 Intel X520-DA2 to avoid bifurcating two x16 slots, which freed up lane capacity for an Optane hot spare. The x4 card is highlighted in magenta on this TrueNAS Scale rig.

Bad heatsink thermal compound.
The card runs very hot. The poor choice of thermal compound or tape means that it melts, such that the heatsink disconnects from the chip.

Fast and stable ethernet
Overall, this is a great card for wired, high speed ethernet connectivity - it's easy to install (I simply popped the card into a free PCIe slot, moved the existing ethernet connection over to it - AFTER installing the drivers - and I was off and running) and easy to use as it auto-negotiated both 2.5Gbe and 10Gbe connections (the only switches I have over 1Gbe run these two speeds, so I was not able to test auto-negotiation of 5GBe). Testing it, I was able to see nearly 10Gbps speeds at least until I ran out of RAM to test with (since 10Gbps is faster than the speed of most any storage device, computers can't sustain that speed for a file transfer unless you have a super high speed RAID setup - more this is for overall bandwith, not a single file move or such). It runs fast and stable and the heatsink is enough to keep it cool even in sustained operation as long as you have reasonable airflow through your PC.Some of you may ask why, in this day and age, would you pay so much for a WIRED network card. And the key here isn't burst operation/single transmission or reception, it's overall sustained bandwidth and latency along with stability. Wireless can perform well but can be hit or miss and might be unstable sometimes. Wired is ALWAYS stable. And so it is with card - you get the same speeds every time, all day. And for my setup, working remotely on bandwidth intensive (and latency sensitive) applications, that's what I need. So if you're like me, this is a great buy and I can highly recommend it.
