I’m donating my other cookware
The media could not be loaded. This pot is the best. Cleans great. Heats evenly. Absolutely beautiful. It checks all my boxes. The only thing that would make it better is if it self cleaned, or came with a batch of fresh Mac and cheese.

Great ceramic Dutch oven
The pot itself is beautiful! Clean up is a breeze. Perfect height for storing in the fridge. Perfect size. If I didn’t already have so many pots and pans, I’d get the whole set. Very classy and elegant

Beautiful pot
Love the look of this pot. It is really beautiful and matches my kitchen. I use it for baking bread and cooking on the stove. It is less heavy than my enameled Dutch oven. It is easy to clean with its non stick coating. As for quality, it seems good new, time will tell on durability. Gave 4 stars because it’s honestly too expensive for what it is.

“DO” stands for DUTCH OVEN, BABY!
My wife is slowly swapping out our traditional non-stick Teflon cookware over to non-toxic cookware. Caraway’s cookware has an aluminum core and is coated with a ceramic coating which makes the cooking surface slick, and, thus, food does not stick to it. There is also a stainless-steel plate at the bottom so you can use it on induction burners, and the handles are made of stainless steel as well.Caraway takes a lot of pride in that their cookware is 100% toxic free, which means that they are free of PTFE, PFOA, PFAS, lead, cadmium and toxic metals. I read on Caraway’s webpage that it only takes two and a half minutes for a traditional non-stick pan on high heat to exceed 500 degrees Fahrenheit and begin releasing forever chemicals. If you can cook with non-toxic cookware, why take the chance of cooking on traditional non-stick pans where toxic chemicals can leach out and build up in your body over time?Besides being non-toxic, which is most important to my wife, the next important thing to her is the non-stick properties of the Dutch oven, or hereinafter referred to as “DO.” DOs are wonderful to cook stews, soup, sauces, and even bread, which I can’t wait for my wife to make. She’s made chili, spaghetti, and chicken soup so far. Everything turned out great, and as usual, nothing stuck to the DO. I think popcorn would also be great to make in the DO because of its depth and size (6.5 quarts). Clean up was so easy to do with warm soapy water and a soft brush. Just be sure to cool your DO completely to avoid the risk of the DO cracking from sudden extreme temperature changes. Also, it is recommended to use wood, plastic, nylon, or silicone cooking tools to avoid scratching and damaging the ceramic coating.Caraway cookware is known to conduct heat very well, so there are no hot or cold spots. You know what I’m talking about. When you’re cooking something and half the pan is beautifully browned and the other side of the pan has barely any color? Food cooks evenly, and my wife rarely has to use high heat unless she is boiling or simmering something. Do be careful. The handles do become quite hot, so just a heads-up to use a potholder before grabbing them. The DO is also oven-safe up to 550 degrees Fahrenheit, so it’ll be perfect for braising a roast or chicken in the oven along with root vegetables thrown in on the side.Is this DO worth it? In my opinion, totally worth it. This DO is beautiful and of great quality. It has a great weight and feel to it (6.2 pounds with the lid), but it’s not as heavy as a Le Creuset DO or Lodge DO. The black DO with the gold handles looks very chic and looks great displayed right on our countertop. Also included with the DO was a cork trivet and a cleaning eraser.Although it is quite expensive, this DO is an investment that will pay off in the long run. You definitely will use less oil, if you want to reduce oils and fats in your diet, because nothing will stick, and you will save money over time by not having to replace it like other traditional non-stick cookware. Cooking is much more enjoyable with the right equipment. With proper care, this DO will last a long time and perform well no matter if you’re a beginning cook or advanced. Looking forward to my wife baking some sourdough in the DO.
