Awesome drink mix!
I love this drink mix and I don’t normally like these kind of powdered flavored drinks but this Black Cherry is very good! I have already purchased two bags of it and will be buying more!!!

Poor taste
Unfortunately I found these to be unsatisfactory. While they claim to be sugar (and sweetener) free they have (to me at least) an overpowering sugar-free sweetener type taste to them. They don't taste like black cherry to me either, more like a coconut flavor base. I mixed one packet with about 20oz of water - the package suggests 10 to 12 oz of water. I can't imagine how bad that would taste. Perhaps if they were mixed with more water they would be better.Anyway, given the overwhelmingly sweet taste I can't recommend these.

It's not "Fun Dip"—and that's a good thing
The most striking thing about this electrolyte powder is that the taste doesn't strike you. But I want a mix that doesn't try to beat up my taste buds, so I'll focus on that before talking about the nutrition. (By the way, the four stars, rather than five, is because it's not great for my specific health needs, but I really like it. It may be perfect for you.)I'm new to the whole electrolyte mix thing. I'm not an athlete, but someone with low blood pressure and POTS whose cardiologist said to drink stuff like this. I'm 40 and rarely consume things like cane sugar, corn syrup, or artificial sweeteners. That's important, because how things taste to us can vary a ton based on what we're used to and how old we are. This Wild Berry Splash from Versalyte is my favorite so far in terms of taste, after previously sampling multiple flavors from four brands (Biosteel, Liquid IV, Fluid Tactical, and DripDrop). It doesn't have sugar or stevia—both of which I dislike—and instead is flavored with monk fruit extract and "natural flavors". The tart cherry extract apparently isn't meant as a flavor.Anyway, it tastes like fruit water. As in, big fruit slices were just put in water and then you drink it. Simple. It's not overwhelming, and if you are used to eating or drinking diabetes bombs, honestly it'll probably taste too watered down for you. But it might be a good idea to adjust your palette and abandon the sugar drinks that masquerade as health drinks! The mouth feel is fine for me. I got a few flavored, undissolved tiny bits in my initial glass after a quick mix. They weren't quite gritty, but noticeable to someone paying attention. Maybe they'd dissolve if you mix it up ahead of time and let it sit. The viscosity is better than I'd expect from something with so many vitamin/mineral ingredients. Which takes us to the actual nutrition content. The amounts of calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, and potassium are much higher than I'm used to seeing. That seems nice. The sodium amount is very low—even lower than the amount in a "low sodium" packet from Fluid Tactical. That's good, I guess, if you've got tons of sodium in your diet already. If you have POTS like me and your doctor tells you to increase your sodium intake, this should not be your only choice for this kind of product. In spite of that, I like the unobtrusively pleasant flavor and generous mineral amounts so much that I am happy to alternate between this powder and some high-sodium options I have. If you find other mixes sickeningly sweet and you don't need your mix(es) to be high in sodium, this electrolyte mix may be for you.About my pictures—My pictures show the jar/label all the way around, plus the bottom. I ordered it in April of 2022 and the printed expiration date is January of 2024, so that's 17 months before expiration. The label says you should use it within three months of opening so it doesn't clump.I've got pictures of the powder and pour so you might have some visual clue as to the consistency. It's probably not surprising. After I mixed it with water, there was a tiny bit of foaming, so I tried to grab a quick pic before it went away. It's likely due to the taurine, since that's an amino acid and proteins tend to cause foaming (like when ocean waves crash and froth).Just after this, I focused the camera on the minuscule floating bits at the top. Most were lighter, but some were the darker red bits. I actually ended up putting it in the refrigerator for a little while before drinking more than an initial sip, and it seemed like more of the bits dissolved by the time I got back to it.Good luck finding the right match for your health needs!

Balanced Electrolyte Blend and Good Flavor
What interested me most about this particular electrolyte is the balance of minerals... many electrolyte drinks just have sodium and maybe some potassium, but many are missing the calcium and magnesium of a true electrolyte. This contains on 60mg of Sodium which is very low vs similar products. The Magnesium and Calcium in this are delivered by GIVOMAG and GIVOCAL - highly bioavailable forms of calcium and magnesium. Another ingredient is VitaCherry Sport which provides the nutrients that come from Tart Cherries which are a highly concentrated source of anthocyanins, protective antioxidants that reduce inflammation and fight premature aging. It also contains 1500mg of Taurine, which has shown to provide anti-aging benefits. Interestingly, the pouch does not provide a calorie count, but since this is sugar free (sweetened with Sucralose), it's likely very low in calories. With so many benefits, I was intrigued. At $1 per packet, it seems packed with a lot of good stuff!I mixed a packet up with the recommended 12 oz of water. I found it to be really tasty. Mixed with 12oz of water there is plenty of flavor, which I like. There is a tiny hint of a flavor I can't really put my finger on. Other reviewers said that the mix tastes slightly creamy. That must be what I'm tasting... The only downside for me is that upon initially opening this pouch, there was a strong odor like plastic with a hint of black cherry. Interestingly, the drink packets are packed inside another plastic pouch inside the outer pouch, which seemed odd. I figured maybe the outer packaging had a plastic odor and that's why it was double packaged. I have not noticed the odor again upon reopening the package.Overall, I really like this electrolyte and will likely purchase it again.
