So far so good
Took a little bit to activate but they took off do their job. Haven't had to boil to reactivate yet I'll come back and complain if something happens but I really don't for see it these things are usually solid from different brands at least.

Only Worked Once
Only worked once. It was kind of hard to get it to activate, my daughter couldn't do it on her own. After we had used them all we followed the directions for resetting them and almost immediately after they started hardening up without any heat. Couldn't used them more than the first time. I ended up returning them.

Heats up quickly
Having four of them worked out great. As one cooled down, I just snapped another to take its place on my shoulder. The heated plastic makes it feel like moist heat and it stays right in place by conforming to the curve of my shoulder. It's very comfortable. After using I placed them on a silicone trivet in a pan of water and brought it to a boil for 5 minutes, as directed. The trivet kept them from sticking to the bottom of the pan without stirring. After removing from the water, I wrapped them in a cloth and enjoyed the heat as they cooled down. Once cooled, they reactivated with just one click.UPDATE: Although they work really well, I wouldn't purchase them again. Recharging them is a bit of a hassle. Having to heat them for 5 minutes in boiling water is more work than throwing a flaxseed pillow into the microwave for 60 seconds. They stiffen up again if you don't get 100% of the crystals dissolved. I left my rating at a 5 because they do exactly what they are supposed to do. I just found them to be more work than I wish to deal with.

Very convenient magical hand warmers.
The media could not be loaded. Until recently I was unfamiliar with this technology and had no idea how it worked (technically I still don't). I wondered how a small metal disk that you snap inside this gel could cause a heating reaction, but when I tried it, I was amazed. The heat is warm, but not hot to touch and lasts about 15-20 minutes. The process to reset them involves wrapping them in a towel and dropping them in boiling water for a few minutes, but then they are like new again and ready to use for another round. They work like magic and it's fun watching the gel turn into a solid. The plastic feels sturdy so I don't think they will wear out or puncture easily. I'm very satisfied.

Ehhh..I’m rather indifferent
I bought these as stocking stuffers, I ordered two packs and 5 of the 8 had already been activated, so I had to boil them sneakily.. the process of boiling actually took a very long time, I’d say closer to 30 minutes. I’ve had similar hand warmers in the past, and do not remember them taking that long. The other ehhh I have about them, is that the disc is VERY hard to snap/click. My kids haven’t been able to do it on their own and I even struggle to be able to accomplish it. I don’t know if it’s too thick for the size making it difficult snap, if it just needs to be ‘worn in’ a bit or what...I’m giving it an ehh (indifferent to the product) for those reasons. Do they get warm? Yes. Can you reuse them? Yes. It’s just that deactivating them is kind of time consuming and they are difficult to activate.

These are only good for one time use.
The product advertised as an ongoing use item but the problem with using it the second time is having to heat in boiling water. So although it may be reusable I don’t find it convenient. I had gotten these for my daughter for school but it won’t be convenient to boil water every time she wants to use one. I would not buy again.

So awesome!
These work surprisingly well, and give off a lot of heat. It’s not easy to snap the little metal disc on the inside at first, but I just find some thing hard with an edge to push it up against, and then it snaps pretty easy. It’s also a super cool science experiment with my kids. They love to watch it change, and so do I.Boiling is not the easiest, but I wrap a couple up in a washcloth and boil the washcloth packets for about 10 minutes, and then they’re good to go! I love that they are reusable and I’m not just throwing things away.I highly recommend!
