I had the prior edition of this text and bought this one to help review for a fire investigator certification exam that focuses on NFPA 1033 and 921. It's a good text for that. It has review questions, and includes access to online resources like quizzes, chapter tests, and flash cards. I recommend it.

Lots of good information regarding fire investigation. I use it as a reference often.

Study for test and past

If you're looking for a book to help study for your CFEI or CFI exams, or just good reference material, Fire Investigator: Principles and Practice to NFPA 921 and 1033 is a must-have. The book provides the reader with information from NFPA 921 and 1033 and then breaks it down with real-world scenarios and lamens terms for the non-fire investigator to understand as well.I took away one star because of Jones and Barlett's rude customer service & the uselessness of the online "Navigate 2 Access". The end of each chapter features multiple-choice questions that test knowledge learned from the chapter but in order for you to find the answer key, use must check Navigate 2, HOWEVER, if you are not enrolled in a course with an instructor, you still cannot find the answers. When i asked JB about this, I was told the equivalent of "oh well" and then after sending two follow up emails, still haven't received a reply.

Used for class

I haven’t got into the book yet, but when I opened the package there was this brown stock stuff on the book. And this is supposed to be a new book..Mind you the packaging was in tact. I got the e-sample of the book while I waited and the book itself seems cool.

Went through the whole book using the open enrollment option and passed the course with an overall score of 92.5 only to be told there is no certificate issued that shows I took the course. When I questioned J&B about it I was told maybe you can use the grade sheets to get your accreditation, but they don't give certifications for it.
