I've been building high end enthusiast and enterprise level computers for more than 30 years. When it comes to motherboards, Micro-Star International Co. is by far, superior to the other big name brands. Very well capitalized company, wide range of products with above average customer support. Z790 Ace Max is a beautifully designed board with overall excellent surface mount manufacturing quality and tolerances. Excellent VRM design architecture. I prefer the "God Like" board, which I use in most all of my builds, but this "Ace Max" is surprisingly high performing and very stable bios, especially pushing the clocks in an elite class water cooled build. Also nice that you can disable the led lighting for a cleaner, more professional appearance. Exceptional connectivity options on the board and at the rear I/O. Would be nicer if this had faster ethernet for network file transfers and faster, more stable ram clock options using 2 sticks. Ram speed is one area that MSI needs to improve. Great mid tier entry level board.

Taking the motherboard out of the box was a truly luxurious experience. I've never seen a more premium look on a motherboard -- I was shocked. The powerful VRM and intuitive BIOS made overclocking a breeze. Everything running smoothly so far and I appreciate all the extra features like Thunderbolt and PCIE-5. Would recommend.

The tool less SSD cover is a nightmare to get off. Took an hour to get off. Ended up using another SSD slot. Do not buy this board, buy another board with a screw for the cover.

Bought this for my first ever build. It's a beast and the "keep out" zone and shielding around important parts gave me peace of mind that I wasn't going to cause accidental damage due to my ignorance. The only issue I had was with the "easy" screwless m.2 slot. It is anything but easy. I never got it open and only after an hour of trying and searching videos, realized I did not need that slot for my m.2 anyways.Other than that single unnecessary feature it's great. I also really liked the msi BIOS and Driver USB that came with it. Made updating and setting up after installing windows a breeze.

I purchased this motherboard as my previous build had frequent crashes when an Intel Core i9 14900KS was installed. I'm only using the default BIOS settings and the CPU is power limited. It at least resolved the crash issues. Therefore, that's an improvement for me.Now I upgraded my cooler and found this motherboard is very good. I can use a preset to achieve 5600mhz DDR 5 speed.

I ordered a new MSI Z790 Ace Max motherboard on 10/22. It took over a month to receive it even though it was listed in stock. The motherboard I received is used. The original plastic protective coverings has been removed. All the surfaces have fingerprints. The pins on JUSB4 (USB connector) are bent; I was able to straighten them. The M2_1 (SSD slot1) heatsink is stuck. I push on the release button but the heatsink will not release. I'm not happy at all. Going to call MSI in the morning to see if they can help me with the SSD heatsink.

Didn't realize a thumb drive came with the board. I wasted time on MSI website looking for drivers. I haven't figured out fire to get the wifi operational yet. Again, I'm sure it's all user error and the board is operating beyond expectations.
