Personally I prefer my stays to be Aluminum Memory Stays but these flexible stays used in the Oppo brace seemed to work very well. I appreciated the 9.5 inch height of the lumbar portion of their back brace and that their material was light weight and made to be very breathable so using it during the summer months shouldn't be an issue. The tapered fit of the brace at the abdominal region provided greater flexibility while sitting with the brace wrapped around my waist.Actually the only real issue I had was that the two adjustable compression straps were limited in their compressive ability due to the fact that once I had pulled one around and used the velcro hook and loop closure to fit it in place and then pulled the second one around I found that it could not be pulled over the initial compression strap to provide the extra compression I was looking for. There was no closure loops for the velcro hooks on the back of the adjustable straps to attach to. That would probably not be an issue for most wearers but for me I like to get the most compression I can tolerate with the adjustable straps on any brand of back brace. Although at the current price point I'm sure it might be more than some buyers are willing to spend on a new back brace but I would suggest giving this back brace a try and if you don't appreciate the fit and the quality then take advantage of the Free Return being offered by Amazon and the Seller and send it back for a full refund...

I have been suffering with back discomfort pretty consistently since a car accident more than 10 years ago. I have tried everything under the sun to find long lasting relief, including other back braces, heated rocks and bean bags, vibrating pads that attach to my work chair, and anything else you can think of. Because of this, I am skeptical when I see something claiming to offer relief. For some reason I decided to take a chance on this product. I have used it just a few times, but I can tell you that the relief this heated brace gives me does seem to last longer than similar past products I've tried. The heat seems to help a larger region of my back than previous braces I've used. The material is lightweight, and breathable which keeps you from sweating under the entire brace. I think this would work better for a thin person. I liked this when I first put it on, but through the course of the first day, that changed. I have back fat, and this seems to cause the wrap to roll on the upper part of my back. The rolling caused one of the stays/bars to dig into my back as the day went on, especially when sitting. And these bars are not removable. As well, you really need to be very precise with your measurements for this brace, because unlike other similar braces, on this one, the velcro straps used to cinch the wrap tighter only stick on the middle/center area of the wrap, so if you loose weight or get a wrap that is even slightly too large, you may not be able to cinch it super tight. Also, that front area in which velcro will stick is not quite wide enough for both cinch strap velcro pieces to fit without overlapping these a bit, impeding a smooth appearance in the front.Unfortunately, this brace is not going to work for me. A tbinner person with stable weight and girth may not have the issues I experienced with this brace.

This brace is definitely doing its job. The specs for this indicate it fits a waist of 43 ⅜ - 47 ¼ but it does not indicate ‘natural’ waist, or the lower waist/hip area. Usually it means natural waist, but this product specifies that it is for the lumbar region, so it is an important distinction. For me, it is the difference between it being a usable product or something I have to give to a smaller friend. Much to my delight, it fit me just fine. The velcro pulls provide a substantial level of comfort beyond the standard brace itself. The flexible stays do their job quite well without digging into the skin. The bottom of the brace did roll up a little but was not as noticeable as I thought it would be. Its current price point of $64.00 is right on the line of what I would consider a good deal. Considering that it is somewhat of a specialty item, I can see $50 being more reasonable. I definitely appreciate that this brace is geared to plus sized. It is able to be used without feeling like a corset.
