Dixon Ticonderoga Woodcase Pencil, H #3, Yellow Barrel - 24 Count (13883)

I ordered both the 2 and 3 hardness. They are both great!

I like using hard lead for sketches that require fine lines with lots of angles. These are hard to find whereas they used to be available in-store in lots of places.

Good for working on word search books, homework and drafts. Good to use for people with visibility depth disabilities. The lead is dark enough to be able to see it. Better than #2 pencils, for people in the catergory.

Arrived on time.

These used to be good pencils when they were made in the USA, but now they are apparently made elsewhere. The hardness of the lead is inconsistent from one pencil to another. But the worst thing is that the leads are off-center so that, when sharpened, they come to a point in the wood.

Great pencils

There's not much to say about these Dixons. They're the same classic pencils that I grew up using and remain reliable writers. I give them out to my students as these are not readily available here in Korea. I'd say it's a tossup between these standard size Dixons and the larger Laddie which are better for younger hands. These are easier to sharpen however as there's not a lot of sharpeners that can handle the larger diameter of the Laddie. I'm satisfied with this purchase.
