This stuff is amazing, I almost didn't need to tone after! Best lightening product I've ever tried. My hair is naturally a dark ash blonde/brown color. I used it with 40 volume developer, and it came out great.

I ordered this as a substitute for the ion brand of charcoal lightener which has been out of stock everywhere for probably half a year now. Sadly, it doesn’t pack the same punch. Which was expected, considering Ion lightens up to 10 levels and this says up to 7. So to get my hair to its usual level, I had to do two applications. Not ideal, but it was not terribly damaging. The Ion version is definitely better as far as toning too, I had to do two applications of my usual toner as well after lightening. I would say this product is comparable to something like quick blue.

I mixed it with the developer per the instructions and by the time I applied it to the areas I wanted to, it was dried up. It probably would do better with foils. Luckily I had a normal powder bleach and was able to mix some up and put on. My hair still turned out okay. I wish this hadn’t dried up because I bought it for the fact it said it would lift up to 7 levels. I ended up not getting the lift I wanted at all.
