A shipping giant, in miniature
Even if you're not a Maersk fanatic, you still have to appreciate the sight of a giant container ship like this one. This scale model of the massive real thing is a neat keepsake to display, and a great addition to your own Lego City harbor scene. Lego Maersk sets are very collectible and this model is already "retired" so value has already gone way up (original Lego price was pretty reasonable at a hundred and fifty bucks). The 1518 pieces are in numbered bags corresponding to the 3 parts of the build: the hull and main body of the ship; the fence racking for the comtainers and assorted deck gear; the containers themselves. Assembly isn't difficult, although the last section with the containers is a little tedious. Some builders will be aggravated by the large number of Maersk stickers that have to be individually lined up on the containers---hope you have a steady hand! Interesting color palette and a few unique pieces are nice for your Lego stash if you decide to dismantle the ship later. When the ship is complete, it is a lovely display piece. Find this model a worthy bookshelf, ledge, or set it on the mantle above the fireplace. It's sturdy enough to handle and play with if you like, but if not just sit back and admire it!

Missing two blue pieces
Great build and was able to make it look better with some other colored Lego pieces I had. Contacted Lego to get the two pieces to complete the build and they are really good about handling missing parts!

LEGO FUN ON A SHIP
I bought this item for my grandson's Christmas gift. He loved it and spent 9 hours (12-yr) putting it together. He is ADHD, but this chore kept his constant attention. Go Lego! I cannot say enough about the Lego products. For individuals who think they are too expensive, they really need to take a good look at the detailing of all their pieces, the ease of assembly from fantastic instruction booklets, and the fantastic choice of sets.

Must Have for Supply Chain Geeks
I work at a supply chain software company so when I saw that LEGO had released a Maersk Triple-E kit I had to buy it. The assembly was much faster than I expected, which makes me question the price tag. But overall the experience was great fun.My 8-year old put this together in about 6 hours. The instructions were good with the exeception of the usual optical illusions that you expect from LEGO that sometimes cause you misplace a few bricks. The third set of instructions are fairly monotonous as you assemble the same container structures over and over again then apply stickers to them.It comes with a sturdy stand which allows you to transport it fairly painlessly and display it on a bookshelf with little concern of legos falling off.

Excellent model that conveys impression of accurate scale
This is a terrific model. Even though not strictly to scale, it gives a fine impression of accuracy. A real triple-E has far more containers of course, but this is an excellent desktop conversation piece. Since it is no longer made by LEGO, you have to pay the reseller premium.

MAERSK Barge Shipment Vessel (Expert's Edition) LEGO
This is a must-build LEGO project that encapuslates the MAERSK's shipping franchise to scale. This is not for the faint of heart building wise, and is an exact scale replica of a real barge hauling MAERSK storage units across our ocan waters. A real collectible that will grow in value before this year ends!!!

Expensive for what you get, but great build.
The ship itself is great and the quality to detail is exactly what you would expect from Lego. However it's pricey, even for a lego set.
