These are standard-sized capsules and easy to take. I did not detect any smell/odor or taste when taking them. I found them easy to swallow. I liked that they have added enhancement to help them be more absorbable with the bioperine and biotin. I was told by my doctor that biotin can affect some blood tests so to stop taking biotin a few days before blood tests. Outside of that, I would encourage you to look up the benefits and risks of the supplements as Vine members are limited as to what we can say about supplements. I think it is a good company although there are some fillers in this capsule along with the ingredients that some may want to take note of.

Top Ten Health was the vendor and the process for getting a refund (they would not send a replacement) involved multiple emails and phone calls since Amazon pointed me to the manufacturer (who was helpful in pointing me in the right direction on Amazon). It's too bad, since this product looked like exactly what I needed.

I got this because I prefer 'R' form only Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA). When ALA is made it has 2 forms 'R' and 'S'. The 'S' form is thought to be mostly useless even though with one small exception it looks almost exact to the 'R' form. Some brands will offer ALA for sale without disclosing what kind is in it and what percentage of each is in it, if it contains 'R' and 'S' forms. Many brands will tell you and it's usually a 50% split. The reason it ('S' Form) is not usually taken out is because it cost money to do so. So what you typically see is 2 caps equaling 300 mgs with half 'R' and half 'S'. With this brand it is All 'R' and just one cap at 300 mgs. This is the first time I have seen that and I like it very much.ALA is very well known to possibly help with nerve pain associated with sugar as well as possibly improving cellular health. There are many studies that indicate it could help with glucose resistance but I have never noticed that personally except for a few points reduction. There are very contradicting studies with adding Biotin to it to improve it's performance. Some studies say it helps and some studies say the exact opposite. And there are a few claims of people saying their hair grew better with ALA when mixed with Biotin. I am thinking either placebo effect or they might have had a deficiency because I have been taking Biotin and ALA for decades and never noticed that. Not saying it's impossible but not holding my breath either. I personally take ALA for its very well known possible detox effect with heavy metals and toxins. It (ALA) is very well known in the detox community and is thought to be the only detox supplement that can cross the blood brain barrier. The reason this is important to me is because I take a lot of supplements. And the ingredients are massively cheaper overseas which is why almost all supplements come from there. And even though the bottle may say "Made in the USA" that usually means it was put in box for shipping there or the capsules put in a bottle in the U.S. Many of the good guys in the industry are now stating "Made in the USA with Globally Sourced Ingredients ". And as you could imagine there are sometimes quality issues with these overseas ingredients. And that is why I never recommend nor give 5 stars to a supplement unless it is third party lab tested in the USA/UK or Canada or a country with regulated oversight with supplement ingredient testing. And even with that there are low levels that can go undetected which is when hopefully the ALA I supplement with kicks in removing any heavy metals and toxins that might be there. Plus I possibly get the added benefit of possibly improving my cellular health and protecting my nerves. Now this brand states "Lab Tested" but as I previously mentioned I prefer 'Third Party Lab Tested' and Tested in said countries. I do notice this is a small business and I love to support those. With this brand only having to take 1 cap to get 300 mgs and 120 caps in this, you have a about 4 months covered which I really like. I never notice anything taking ALA and just trust it's doing it job. These are easy to take and I had no sides. Good Luck and I hope this was helpful.

The purest form of alpha lipoic acid.... Regular alpha lipoic acid is only half as strong as the r-lipoic form. The r-lipoic form is double the strength of regular alpha lipoic acid. So, 1 of these capsules, that contain 300 mg's of r-lipoic acid, is equivalent to a full 600 mg's of alpha lipoic acid. So the r-lipoic form is far superior. The BioPerine is a patented form of black pepper extract that been shown to enhance the absorption of certain nutrients, in particular, curcumin, from tumeric. The 2.5 mg's of BioPerine per capsule in this formula may or may not be necessary, since r-lipoic acid is readily absorb-able by the body already, but it sure won't hurt... and if you're taking other vitamins and minerals, at the same time, it may very well assist in the absorption there, depending on which nutrients. This is a nice r-lipoic acid formula, and it's important to note, it's made in the USA, which is a must for me. Will recommend to friends and family.

I have used it and have no issues with it. I usually use the Jarrow version of R-Alpha Lipoic Acid, however the Biophix brand provides 3x as much per serving of 1 capsule (however, while they both include Biotin in the formulation, Jarrow includes the more bio-usable version d-Biotin, but Biophix also includes BioPerine that Jarrow doesn't.) Regarding price per serving, it's competitive, so I suggest buy by the dose you want to take and compare costs per dose (not capsule) at the time when you buy (pricing can fluctuate.) I'm giving it only 3 stars because while the labeling states 3rd party testing, it doesn't show the results on the product page like some (not all) brands do that state they are 3rd party tested.

These are easy to swollow capsules filled with a white, powder form of R-Lipoic Acid. I've had no ill effects, no stomach upset. The "R" is suppose to be a more bio-available form of this supplement than a standard formulation. The bottle came sealed, and included specific ingredient information. Overall, this seems to be a quality product. Yet with this particular supplement, it takes time to realize the effect. (Look up what this supplement targets.) It isn't something I feel when I first start taking them.This is a supplement that I will continue to take. Time will tell whether the "R" formulation brings more pronounced benefits than the typical formulation on the market.
