The steak goes into the ground w ith soe upper body strength in our hard clay. It stays in place. It's easy to cover and hide between uses. Sturdy.

I loved that my order arrived much earlier than expected. When I finally put it in the ground it worked as expected. I only had 1 issue the hole for the post was significantly larger than the post of my umbrella clothes line. That was easily fixed by getting a few rubber gaskets to put around the post. As far as putting it in the ground I had to dig a hole as my soil is heavy clay and very rocky and once it drys in the summer it almost like concrete. The spike is fairly heavy and I have found that it works perfectly for my situation.

I’ve purchased two of these because there really is no moving these after installation. It is a serious pain to pound them into the ground without bending them too badly, but if you can get that done it is very sturdy and held up easily in the strong winds of South Dakota and allowed the clothesline to spin while keeping it upright. Would definitely recommend this if you have a brabantia umbrella type family size clothesline!

Easy installation, and works like a charm!

pricey considering that it retails on the website (over in the UK) for around $13 dollars (converted). I recently purchased the  Brabantia Lift-O-Matic Rotary Dryer Clothes Line - 196 feet, 311048 . It came with a metal soil spike and I was unable to execute it correctly and I ended up causing that thing to bend. (that is my fault)So I hunted down their concrete spike to go that route. Though I have everything in order and done, hired a guy to do the posting, one thing is for sure, the pole wiggles a little inside this plastic spike. I have the correct part based on Brabantia's website (Red Cap Spike = 45mm tube).It's nothing that I think will cause serious damage but I just expected a tighter fit.Last thing I will say, and potentially this is more of a nock at the Rotary dryer itself, but even though I have this flush to my ground, sticking the Rotary in this tube really shortens the pole length. I'm only 5'6" and I find my self having to duck to get under .

Strong and sturdy and shipped FAST. FYI the best clothes tree ever is made by Brabantia. I move mine in the winter time to the sunniest location possible and so I need this second 'soil spear'. Definitely recommend this product.`
