My system is completed
I'm just saying it out loud.. I'm an old man and I have had couple pairs of cerwin Vegas speakers way back in the day .. Like in the early 90's and once the surrounds went I didn't know you could rebuild them.. so flash to this day and age.. I was really skeptical about the speakers knowing what had happened to cerwin Vega over the years.. let me just tell you they're back and they're back with a vengeance.. I bought a wiim amp and only have the amp running these speakers along with a 8-in powered sub.. with the sensitivity being 90 into 8 or 4, ohms matches up perfectly with this amp. The wiim is only rated for 60 watts .. Now I have the volume that I was trying to obtain from something similar to the speakers I used to have... Don't be fooled by their look These speakers Rock!

Cerwin Vega has done their homework
This is my first pair of Cerwins. I never really liked the outdated looks of their SL and XLS series speakers, but these caught my eye. I have owned Klipsch, Polk, Jamo, Micca and a plethora of other speakers, all of which must now bow to King Cerwin.I LOVE THESE SPEAKERS! The upgrade bug hit and I was in the market for a new set of bookshelves. I was eyeballing Heco's, Pro-Jects, Dali's , Elacs etc but came across these. Did my usual scouring of the intarweb looking for reviews etc. and there was not much out there (there are a few now) but decided to take the chance. I am glad I did.Construction, fit and finish are top notch. Cerwin has done their homework with these speakers. Tapered cabinet to reduce resonances, flush to baffle tweeter to reduce reflections, quality bass port, not just a hole in the back, magnetically shielded woofer, the vinyl wrap looks like real veneer, and quality crossover parts all make for an extremely good sounding sonic experience. I don't know how they do it all, at this price point.I am pushing these bad boys with a vintage Kenwood 125wpc stereo amplifier and tested them for about week with no subwoofers. Bass is present at lower volumes, but these beasts love to be played loud. Cranking the Kenwood to uncomfortable (to me) levels really brought out the bass and pressurized my room surprisingly well. Mids and highs showed no evidence of falling apart at high volumes. Highs are crisp, airy and very detailed. Mids are punchy and pronounced, electric guitars seemed like they were in the room with me. I always recommend using subwoofers with bookshelf speakers. I now have these paired with a pair of OSD Trevoce 8" subs and I am in heavy metal heaven. So far, these have been my favorite speakers that I have ever owned and I would recommend them to everyone. The only 2 things I would like to see improved is for Cerwin to not use steel parts behind the binding posts and implement magnetic grills. C'mon, there are speakers out there at less than half the cost with magnetic grills. But, overall, for the price point, you can't beat em. Highly, highly recommended.

Twitter started making distorted noise after two times listening to it
Hook the speaker up work fine second time I went to go use it the Tweeter started making distorted noise I contacted customer service and all I could tell me is to return it and give me a full refund. I don't want a refund I want to replacement Tweeter and a refuse to do so said it was a third party and they cannot help me with it how can you sell a product that you cannot fix.

Cerwin Vega is back, and has grown up a lot, but in a great way!
Want to start off by saying that I bought my pair from Walmart.com so my review does not say verified purchase on it.That being said, these are large, fairly heavy bookshelf speakers. The build quality is very nice, and the driver's are equally well built inside and out. There is a large port on the backside as well as gold plated double binding posts. These speakers are fairly sensitive and can be driven by smaller amplifiers but they can also handle a lot of power, and I mean a lot. I had them cranking to uncomfortable volumes and they still sounded pretty clean and were handling the power with little trouble. The port noise is very minimal unless really bass heavy music that has very little mid or high is played, and then you can hear it. Lower volumes sound just fine, but these really like higher power. They sound pretty well balanced and clear without being too bright up high.Bass wise, I heard and measured at least 32hz with room being factored in, and I was quite surprised by it. CV was always known for their bass and their loudness, and they seem to be reborn again but have matured now with a cleaner sound.I caught these on sale for $174/pair and that was a screaming good deal. But, even at the current price these still offer plenty value and are absolutely worth it.
