Cable functions as expected
Purchased this cable to link a 2017 Prius Prime to change the mode of grille shutter from maintenance mode to normal mode. The package came with a mini-CD disk that had v18 of Techstream and instructions and links to install via the web if you do not have a CD-ROM drive.I had V12 of Techstream loaded in Windows XP via VirtualBox (discovered on YouTube) and worked without using the latest version and worked out of the box. I was able to change a few functions of the car using the provided cable.

slow and not fully functioning
The product is tricky to install (provided cd did not have all the necessary files). had to contact seller response was quick within couple hours. The program does not have all of its functions available; no surprise there. I'm advising to use it on the portable device that will never be connected to internet because virus scan found multiple viruses (or behaviors simulating virus activity). Yet, it does scan and have a bit more functions then regular OBD2 scanner.

It works. You do need some skill and patience.
I ordered this cable/software solution listing solely because I could get it the next day, and it arrived quickly. There are other sellers out there with this cable at different price points -- I don't know how well any of them support their product. I can tell you that this seller does provide a CD with the software and a direct link if you no longer have access to a CD reader. You've sought this route because retail options are too expensive for your DIY once-a-year or less needs with your vehicle. This exists because car manufacturers don't offer a path for weekend warriors trying to fix their daughter's car or something similar. The seller vouches that the software and enabling 'patch' are malevolent virus-free. This may be indirectly true, but you should use this sandboxed within a different computer than you do your banking on...Isolate this on a VM guest operating system. Steps:....Install Oracle VirtualBox and build a Windows 10 home 2cpu, 6GB RAM virtual guest.....Bridge the VM to your network with a virtual NIC and get it fully patched to the correct monthly levels.....Deactivate Antivirus through menu toggles and the local machine policy (permanently)....Plug in the USB MiniVCI cable, present it to the Guest VM, and ensure that Windows Update provides the driver and it's not showing up in the device manager as a device without a driver... should be called a USB serial converter or something innocuous.....mount the CDrom or connect to the internet link to download the software to the VM guest. Also download winrar or equiv rar-capable unarchiver.....Shut down the VM guest, remove the virtual NIC and reboot the VM guest -- you no longer need internet or antivirus on this isolated sandbox.....Once it reboots, verify that the antivirus is still disabled, verify that the USB MiniVCI cable is presented to the VM guest, and then follow the directions to install the software and connect your car.If any of the above steps needed to be simplified... You can find several YouTube videos on doing this. They are of varying quality. But I can vouch that the cable does work with a Windows 10 64bit VM guest running in Oracle VirtualBox. I used it to clear the immobilizer transponder of a lost key and to program two newly cut keys into the immobilizer on a 2004 Lexus RX330. I hope this helps you if you choose to take on this product. As for viruses - Running this provided software in a sandbox without a network connection is safe. The antivirus scanners are not picking up false positives on these "patches." The "patches" work by injecting into the memory locations the software is running in the same manner and method that an actual virus exploits vulnerable code. So, if your antivirus on the VM guest starts up again, it will begin to quarantine those aspects, and you'll have some work to undo that. Are there any unwanted malware in there? Just be safe and don't risk your laptop/tablet, sandbox it.

Works Great
I bought this to programs 2 keys for my 2010 Camry and it worked! Make sure to watch the video for the installation. I came across an issue not connecting but it was my own fault for not watching the video first. You can also use YouTube to find help running the software after you install it and connect your vehicle, depending on what you're trying to do.
