Our tomatoes had some blossom rot even on the green ones. Our soil is new each year due to being a raised garden. The low calcium % in our soil was the cause. We used these tomato fertilizer spikes as directed and within a week or so the brown bottoms were completely gone. Saved our crop.

My tomatoes are thriving from using these. I am growing tomatoes in zone 6 and it is now the middle of June. Usually we are just planting things outside at the end of May… anyway my tomatoes are well over 6 feet tall already and are full of tomatoes waiting to ripen. I did start them indoors in advance and the food sticks helped them tremendously as I have no usable windows facing the right side for the morning sun.

Jobe’s Tomato Fertilizer Spikes 6-18-6 Time Release Fertilizer spikes are so easy to use. This is our first year to use them, but it's May 19 in central Alabama, and we already have several marble-size tomatoes and one about golf-ball size. This is earlier than usual -- We may have our own ripe tomatoes for July 4! The plants are a dark, hunter green and look very healthy. I plan to use the spikes again next year, and I'm thinking I may use them with our squash and other vegetables. I think the fact that the middle number is high and the spikes are at the roots of the plants make them a great choice. I recommend gardeners to try them.
