Received my product the other day. After examining the product notice the workmanship was better than expected. There were no flaws in the wood the wood was straight and not warped at all. I used it on my Xtool M1 Ultra without nany issues.. will definitely be buying additional items from this vendor

The media could not be loaded. Loved the piece. Most of the bark was intact on arrival, but it flakes off very easily. A thick coat of oil-based polyurethane finish took care of that problem and allowed me to retain the live edge look. The mineral oil I applied was accepted by the wood just as well as I hoped it would be. Overall very satisfied in this piece of wood for the price!

These wonderfully smell like fresh cut wood. They are real wood slices with the bark still on. Variegated a bit in width. Very large and Heavy. Solid panels.Basswood is great for carving, wood burning, and using as a drawing board with paper on top. Smooth.But there are natural imperfections, knots, and even one crack that I fear will only get worse in the desert.Basswood is known to resist warping, which I hope works for me. When I ordered these, I was new at staying in the desert. Mold is not the problem here. It's cracking and drying out of wood and I'm not sure I know of any way to save these.They look great at the moment, though. Very straight and not splitting. All my guitars are warping here, so I worry about anything wood in the desert.I need to meet up with people here who know more about wood than I do, and see how to oil and seal these to try to protect any art I do on them.Wanted to paint scenes on them for Christmas gifts for front door winter decor.(Oh, p.s., size 7 slippers in my photos for scale.)

The planks in this set are interesting. Each piece has a live edge on two sides - the natural bark still attached. This bark is raw - so it is flaking off if not handled carefully.Each plank is cut to roughly the same size. Some pieces are not as wide as others, but all are cut to the same length.The planks vary from piece to piece - some have small knots, others have large hollow knots. The woodgrain is very light in basswood, so the planks are light colored. The wood is fairly smooth on the top and bottom. Some of the planks are slightly warped, but depending on how you use the planks, they could be flattened.The planks could be used as-is as trays for a party buffet - just add bowls and plates of snacks for a cool rustic look. And of course, there are lots of other uses for using these planks in projects and crafts.I am going to cut the planks in half lengthwise, then arrange all the pieces so the live edges are all facing the same way and then turn them into shelves for a houseplant display. I might save two of the pieces for other projects, so I'm glad there are 6 pieces in this set.Overall, I think these wood planks have a lot of potential and I do recommend them.
