Pre-formed cuff makes BP monitoring easier
I finally have a BP home monitor that I can use by myself because the cuff is already formed. (Make sure that your arm measurement fits within the range given in the product description.) This brand has a very good reputation for accuracy and their Easy Fit cuff is the only model of any brand that I've found with a cuff that I can just slip on. I've struggled to wrap ordinary cuffs around my arm using one clumsy hand. This cuff is much easier to use.

Life Source brand; not eligible for HSA but looks like a good one.
I would like to know why this monitor is not HSA eligible, when it is manufactured by A&D like so many others. I planned to use my HSA account but bit the bullet and paid for it directly anyway because it had features I liked better than those approved. I can't understand why this one is note covered. This has a really clear display, memory for a single user (which is all I need and makes it less confusing to use). It appears to be accurate but I haven't had it very long yet. The features I was wanting were the preformed cuff (this one is super easy), and a multiple power source. It has a battery option, but no batteries were included (4 AAs are required). It also has a power cord with USB. A big negative for me is that it is not back-lit so in order to read it I have to have good lighting. I had difficulty finding the preformed cuff with the other desired features so I chose the cuff over other features. I'm basically happy with this purchase. Be sure to read the set-up instructions for date and time in order to view memory accurately.

Highly recommend
This is our second A&D Blood Pressure Machine. Our first one has lasted for years and was very accurate (tested at the doctor's office more than once). Glad to find the identical make and model that we had originally. Our first one is still working, but with my husband's health problems, we thought we might need a backup in case the original finally quit working.

Dangerously inaccurate!!
We bought this because my husband has slight pre hypertension (139/90 is a normal reading for him), and his doctor wanted him to keep on eye on it. After receiving this both my husband and I tried many times to get an accurate reading, but it was consistently ridiculously high. In about 50 attempts we never got it lower than 160/100, many times in the 170's and 180's. I do not have high blood pressure, it is always normal. I happened to be going to the doctors so I took it with me and the nurse couldn't get an accurate reading with it either. My BP at the doctors office (done manually by a nurse) was 118/70- 40 points lower than this so called BP monitor read! Don't waste your money on this. I am sending this back!

Super
This works very nice. People have complained about the pre-formed cuff, I love it, it makes putting the cuff on so easy. The monitor is very easy to use. I would recommend this monitor if you need to check your blood pressure.

Very Accurate Blood Pressure Monitor
I purchased the LifeSource UA-787EJ and took it to my doctor's office where it proved to be reliably close in accuracy to the professional model used by the nurse. My only issue, and one that I believe is probably shared with all these units, is that it is hard to position the cuff and tighten it without some help. I do it by myself and find it to be a bit of a pain. Other than that, I think it is an excellent product. It's easy to use and has an adapter so you don't have to burn through batteries.

Seems to be Accurate
I've had it for one day and it seems to be accurate. I calibrated the UA-787EJ against the manual setup (stethiscope, gauge and cuff) that I purchased last week and the readings are consistant. I read the first review that stated their disatisfaction b/c the readings were "high". I would recommend calibrating the unit yourself and if it is off, return it for another or a refund. For the last week I've tested several monitors in the local stores (Omron, ReliOn, LifeSource) and I felt that all of them reported low BP readings. I even ordered one that was very eratic in its readings but was always 10 to 12 points lower than the readings taken w/a stethiscope (sometimes I used the BP machine at Wal-Mart, which seemed to be consistent). I returned it for a refund.I work at a hospital, and a co-worker used the new UA-787EJ this morning, found that his blood pressure was very high, went down to ER and indeed it was extremely high. If you have doubts about the accuracy, I suggest purchasing the manual stethoscope., gauge and cuff to do your own calibration. It was the only way I could be confident the automatic unit was accurate and reliable. The manual setup only costs about $16.00 from Wal-Mart (maybe less from Amazon) and taking your BP is easy.
