Scarlet Darkness Maxi Skirts for Women High Waist Renaissance Skirt Long Skirt with Pockets

I really really love this skirt! The Deep Yellow color is perfect muted autumn shade and I find myself choosing this one to wear the most out of all my skirts. I like making it my second layer and by rolling the waist band over and allowing it sit closer to my belly button it hits at that perfect second layer spot! Even though the material has some weight and feels really durable it still flows beautifully and is so fun to do spins in while dancing! It doesn’t create any friction or static on either the above or below skirt regardless of what fabric or brand I layer it with! Admittedly it is slightly big around the waist on me (I’m generally an xxs-xs with a 24” waist), but the drawstring helps a little with tightening and so does folding over the band. Since I wear a corset having it be a little big isn’t a problem because that holds it in place. It’s not so big that it immediately falls down to my hips and stays up enough for me to get the corset on (I’ve had skirts that don’t stay up and they’re impossible to wear even with a corset). I could most likely wear it without a corset but it would rest low on my hips with a bit of a gap at the band. I’d wear it that way if that was my intended style because it’s not super big. There’s a lot of stretch in the waistband so I think it would accommodate a lot of sizes. At 5’2” when I wore it low on my hips without rolling the waistband over the longest part of the shirt hit the top of my boots that had a small heel (less than 2”), so I can wear this as a bottom layer. It’s super wrinkled when you open it but spraying some wrinkle release on it and throwing it in the dryer with low heat got most of them out, the rest smoothed out the more I wore it. It doesn’t really seem to pick up wrinkles while wearing it- even 3 hour car rides didn’t create a lot of wrinkles and by the time I got out and walked around a bit most shook out. If I was using it as a top layer I might actually try to steam it, but it’s really not that bad with wrinkles. I’ve worn this one about 5 times so far, including dancing and sitting on wooden benches as well as during a rainy muddy walk to an indoor event and it’s held up great. I often change into comfortable clothes for the drive home so this just gets balled up in a bag so I’m not gentle with it. I think it’s well worth the price, especially when it’s on sale! I like this one so much and know I’ll be wearing it for quite some time that I actually bought a second one in case anything happens to the original and so I can have one to wear while the other is drying (I hang to dry because my dryer likes to destroy clothes on a high heat cycle). I’ve bought this style in other colors and like them as well. I’ve actually grown to love quite a few styles of skirts from Scarlet Darkness! I waited a long time because the size chart made me think it would be just way too big for me and, yes, all styles are a little big but they still work for me. For reference I am 5’2”, 24” waist, slim hips, small bust and rib cage and am just petite in general with much more of a lean muscle tone from walking and hiking so much. So I’d highly recommend these skirts even if you are smaller than the size chart indicates, they’re really easy to adapt to a smaller size be it folding the waist band or securing with a corset or belt and if you don’t mind a lower rise skirt someone smaller would wear without having to adapt it at all! My only regret with this skirt is waiting so long to try it out and take a chance on it!

Bought this for Memorial Day and the 4th. Something light and cool to wear but also protects against bug bites….that no amount of bug spray seems to work.I was concerned that the dark blue color would bleed so I soaked it separately just to be safe. It didn’t bleed at all even with warmer water. I rung it out by hand and hung it up in the shower. Pleasantly surprised how nice it came out after reading all the reviews about wrinkles. The top part is smooth and the bottom area does have a little wrinkle but it adds to the look of it being flowing. No need to iron it at all.

The elastic is little tighter than anticipated. Maybe order up a size

Just as described and a pretty color! Heads up it smelled BAD when opened, so I recommend washing before wearing.

Obsessed! It’s so hard to find the perfect flowy witchy type skirt in stores and without feeling the material ordering online can be annoying. But this material is nice and soft to touch not costumey feeling at all. The length is perfect not to long not to short. It ties at the top which is nice. It’s not a heavy material either so I could wear it during any weather just maybe with some tights in the colder weathers. It’s not see through and it’s flattering, it’s not to flowy that it hides your figure but flowy enough that its perfect.

I love the diagonal lines on this skirt design and the interesting hemline it creates. It's going to be flattering on just about everyone. I was looking for a nice deep red and found what I wanted. I've since purchased other colors and the photos are very accurate. Scarlet Darkness is consistent when it comes to good construction and they are true to the size chart they provide. The material of this skirt is really easy to care for. I washed my skirt and dried it on permanent press settings and it looks perfect. It's medium weight, but tending toward light, so will wear comfortably through the spring, summer and fall. The red was my first, but I always like a skirt with an interesting hemline., so have my eye on the lavender. Also, this one works for we who are wee folks. I'm 5'2" and some of the longer SD skirts are not workable for me. But, there are so many to choose from! This skirt is worth your money. A skirt is always appropriate. When in doubt, overdress!

I was hoping it looked like cotton or linen, but it just looks like wrinkly soft synthetics.
