Beautiful edition of a timeless classic. The cover design is nicely done in gold. llustrations and a sewn-in ribbon placeholder are included. Only one caution: When you first leaf through this book, go slowly page by page in order to separate any pages that are stuck together at the top or bottom. They loosen easily if treated gently.

Have listened to The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran a couple of times on Audible and really liked it so brought it on Kindle and read it. It is pretty interesting and it is quite clear why this is one of the most translated books in the world. All the topics covered such as love, marriage, children, giving, eating and drinking, laws, freedom, etc., everything feels written by a perspective of someone who’s a deep thinker. I guess I will probably read it a few more times again. While this book was written in 1923, it is timeless. If only everyone is a deep thinker like Kahlil Gibran, this world would have been peaceful and so much better and wonderful.

I thought I was buying a nice paperback copy for everyday reading and, well, it’s true you can’t judge a book by its cover. The inside is atrocious, almost to be distracting. Giant large print and the “illustrations” literally look like a bad xerox copy from the 1970s. I wish I’d bought a different version.
