DOGGIE HEAVEN
I purchased this not too long after we got my chi-poo, Vinny. He was 2 months old at the time and really tiny. I had never crate trained and wanted something that wasn't too big. I originally had one of those metal cages but that was so ugly and impersonal. I ordered this and was so happy when I saw it in person. It is so cute. It has the little "shades" on the side that can be rolled up so Vinny can look out his 'windows' or you can leave them down for more privacy. The front and the back of the bag both can be unzipped. It has a case that it came with the the bag fits in when it is flattened. It's really nice. It came with the typical pad on the bottom which work just fine. I just added Vinny's blankie and some of his toys. From day one, before any training, he loved this bag. He is a little over 1 year now and weighs 7.5 pounds and he still has plenty room in his bag. I have another bag that I use for flights but this one is fine for overnight road trips. I store it in its case and set it up when we got to my mom's house. He's kind of skittish and tries to run and hide from people he doesn't know BUT when he saw he start to set up his house. He ran right in and laid down. It's really comforting to him. I had no trouble training him and I think this bag helped a lot because he really likes it and considers it his safe haven. He doesn't even want to come out of it in the mornings. The bag has held up well and doesn't take up a lot of room. I keep it in my room under my desk next to my bed. This was an excellent purchase and I highly recommend.

My go-to pup carrier and pup house since 2002!
The Petmate portable pet house has been the carrier and the safe-haven for my dogs for a little over 20 years now. I still have the original one I bought in April 2002, and have since added a half-dozen more over the years. I use this as a carrier and my pups also love them as a cozy place to sleep, so I have them all over the house. I love the fact that the sides and back mesh windows can be covered with rolling down the covers, so air is still ventilating, but the pups can be cozier during the cold winter weather in Boston. I also added a way to buckle the carrier to keep my pups safe in the car. I also like the fact that the close down pretty flat and store right in the bag it comes with…this is a feature I use for the ones I keep at camp for winter storage. Overall 5 STARS for 20+ years of use!

We both LOVE it!!!
I just received the Petmate Portable Pet Home today. Not only is it SO easy to assemble (zip up the front side, then the back side and VOILA! it's done!) but my dog went into it right away! It has a small handle at the top which makes it easy to move around once assembled and also comes with a little carrying case for when it's folded up. I bought an additional dog mat, just in case the included fleece mat wasn't up to snuff - but I have to say that it's actually pretty good. I'll be using both mats anyway - but I won't feel guilty if we ever have to leave the additional padding at home. The additional mat does fit in the bag too BTW...Hallelujah! The days of dragging our clunky home crate around are behind us. As well as trying to pack the dang thing on road trips! It does say on the box that it's not recommended for chewing puppies or aggressive dogs that aren't crate trained. Other than that, it seems pretty sturdy and well made. My dog doesn't have issues with being crated, so I don't foresee construction issues for us. I also like the fact that all the little "windows" can be easily exposed or covered, since we always cover Bubba's crate with something anyway. Finally - we got the Small size and there is tons of room in it. Bubba is a Maltese mix and he's only 7 lbs., but pretty "tall" - if you know what I mean. His head is about 13" off the ground, so the Mini wouldn't have worked.

Good Carrier. Sags with heavy weight.
This is our second time ordering one of these because our cat loves it so much. Be aware it does not have much bottom support for heavier animals. Will still use it for our heavy cat because she loves it so much. She uses it to sleep in regularly so it is not difficult to just zip up when she needs to go to the vet, but it does sag when we carry her in it. When she was younger she would try to open the zipper in the car, and had moderate success, so we reinforced it temporarily with a twisty tie just for the car ride. She doesn't try and open it now because she's old and lost the spirit for escapism.

Great for cats to sleep comfortably
My cat is receiving chemotherapy and he needs a safe place to rest and hide at home while recovering. He loves the portable home, he can get inside with the cone he is wearing. I bring my cat to the treatments in the portable home since is spacious.

It's the Winnebago for cats
I've used this carrier for years, because I've had to do long drives with my cat. It's huge, light, and sturdy (my cat has walked across the top of it with no issues, even though it's fabric-on-frame, rather than rigid material all around.) The mat on the bottom is removable and has sufficient cushioning. The windows are great for air-flow or to hide my cat from other pets while she's waiting at the vet. Also - my cat has razors for claws, and she can't damage the fabric shell or door. It also folds flat for storage and includes a small carrying case in the box. Lastly, it's a great size. My cat can stand inside without having to hunch or squat in any way. Two of them would fit in there without any trouble.

Nice lightweight carrier
I've had various hard bodied cat carriers but they can get pretty heavy after a while, for me this carrier has worked out perfectly, lightweight but sturdy, very easy to move around in the car, my cats seem to accept their fate of going to the vet without clawing the front screen so no damage has occurred for me. I like this carrier so much that I now have three.
