Nice enough, but not what I was looking for
I’ve only ever had “amba sauce” on falafels from a specific chain of cafes. I love the stuff, so I bought some of my own from Amazon. I was expecting a clear sauce that was sweet and smoky. A bit like barbecue sauce, but much better.However, the stuff that arrived just tasted like a normal curry sauce from a jar. Don’t get me wrong - it’s nice for what it is. It’s thick and and savoury, and a bit spicy. But it’s nothing like the stuff I was hoping for. It’s not clear or sweet. Maybe the stuff the cafe uses isn’t “real” amba sauce, and this stuff is the real deal. Maybe it’s the other way around. Who knows? Either way, it wasn’t what I was looking for.
