130 degrees F after 4 hours
Keeps food hot and delicious!I bought the 12 oz. version, and the build quality is typical Hydroflask. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Here's the test. Poured in 12 oz of boiling water to pre-heat the insulated food jar. After 5 minutes, I emptied the water and poured in 12 oz of bubbling hot stew. Closed the jar and placed in my neoprene lunch bag for 4 hours. After 4 hours the stew was 130 degrees Fahrenheit. The same temperature as a medium rare steak.I found this impressive because it's hard to keep such a small portion (12 oz) hot for hours. My 24 oz Thermos can keep stew tongue burning hot after 4 hours because the double volume does a better job at retaining heat.

Perfect for school lunch.
I love this brand and it is worth the extra cost. Keeps food hot until lunch without the need to reheat. Easy to clean - can go in dishwasher and my daughter can open it herself at school.

A must buy for kids that take lunches to school
Need to buy another one. Keeps daughter's lunch warm all day! Wish they had a square or rectangle shape but this size is better than regular food thermos. The wide lid makes it easier to get the food inside and again, I'm impressed with how it keeps food warm. Very easy to clean too.

Great for keeping things cool, but only luke warm for school lunch five hours after packed.
We love the hydro flask products. We have so many with thermos, coffee and water containers. We really wanted this to keep my son's soup and chili hot enough to enjoy for school lunch. It didn't quite do it. It was warm 5 hours later, but not quite hot enough to enjoy. We had to go another route. It was great for keeping things cool though.

Love this Jar
I love this Jar. My son works outdoors and they don't have a place to heat up food. this was a game changer for him. Now he can take hot soup to eat or put chili or something else in it and keep it hot. No body likes to eat sandwiches everyday. I will be ordering him another one. It fits a whole can of soup in it

High on ego emissions , low on performance
I purchased this "insulated" 20 0z food jar to use it for camping and to keep leftovers hot when traveling. It is a beautifully built jar, the seal looks very well engineered, and the name brand looks fantastic and impressive, very high on the ego emissions, for sure!Well, all the engineering effort went on looks; as far as performance, the jar falls waaaaaaaaaaaaay short of target. It did not keep food hot for longer than 2-3 hrs (at best). And ice melted in less than 2hrs....so much for cocktails at the end of a hike....The seal in this jar is very impressive and very convincing. Since I cannot return it (I've used it already and it would be rude to return something that has had food in it, regardless of how clean it might be) I will be using it to keep coffee grounds or sugar dry when camping. The container is VERY pretty, but that's all. Its primary function is visual, it seems. For the price, it is very disappointing, I should have (in fact, I will) gone with either the Thermos or Stanley versions.Next time I will watch the reviews before I buy.....lesson learned.
