I'm a believer!
I was looking forward to the release of this book because I had researched holistic and integrative doctors in my area. (There are only a handful.) I wasn't having digestive issues per se, but I knew that my body had a lot of inflammation. Dr. Taz believes that the health of our body originates in the gut, so I thought I would give this book a try. I'm so glad that I did! The book is very user friendly; Dr. Taz thoroughly explains the entire digestive system and how any health problems you are experiencing can be traced back to the gut. Following the plan is not easy if you work outside of the house because of the timing of each component but it is doable. There is an approximate timespan for each "meal" or supplement but you can work it into your own schedule. I managed to package up whatever I needed for the day and took it with me. You do need to purchase some supplements but everything else can be bought locally. The green drinks were very hard for me personally because I would much rather eat my spinach and kale as opposed to having it in a drink. I disagree with some reviews who stated that you fast the first 3 days. You start out from day One with various meals. I was never hungry with this plan; there was always plenty to eat. I never had any negative reactions during the first few days, which surprised me because I had read about the headaches, nausea, etc that I might experience. It all went smoothly and I definitely benefited from doing this. This plan helped me see that I wasn't getting enough protein in my diet. I am also not experiencing the painful joints that I was having. I did lose a few pounds and the biggest plus for me was getting rid of my sugar cravings. I must admit that I would live on sugar if I could; I have always had to avoid keeping sweets in the house. Unbelievably, the Halloween candy has been safe so far. The book has plenty of recipes that you'll continue making for youself and your family. There are also exercise plans that you can follow. You will not be disappointed with this book.

I started the 21-Day Belly Fix on 10/1/14 and completed the plan on 10/21/14. The book was very informing and I learned a lot about the gut that I didn't know before. It was very eye-opening and even if I didn't do the "fix," I would still have gained much knowledge from this book. The first 3 days were the hardest, but being I'm not a coffee drinker it didn't bother me as much as it would a person that drinks coffee. I purchased most of the supplements on Amazon and Whole Foods. I had a hard time with the green juices as I didn't like them. I tried many different varieties and I still couldn't like them, but I drank them anyway. I always felt I had plenty to eat and I really liked the bone broth and the kitchari - they were the highlights of the diet. The "fix" didn't resolve all my belly issues, but it did help a lot. A recent EGD showed that I have erosive esophagitis along with gastritis so my gut problems are due to acid reflux. Unfortunately, I will have to continue taking a PPI and I was hoping this plan would eliminate that. I do feel much better mentally, I have more energy and I don't have cravings for sugar anymore. I lost 10 lbs of mostly belly fat during the 21 days and have continued to lose 2 more since then. I am continuing to eat clean with lots of veggies, avoiding sugar and bad carbs and taking the supplements in the plan. I highly recommend this book if you want to fix your gut. But as a diet, I feel that as soon as you start eating your old way, you will gain the weight back. I will do this plan again when I feel the need to do that.

Missing day 10
I looked up “The 21-Day Belly Fix” by Tasneem Bhatia, Amazon recommended I buy another book “Super Woman Rx: Unlock the Secrets to Lasting Health, Your Perfect...”. These 2 are pretty much same. Plus 21-day belly fix is missing day 10; it’s also all over the place and doesn’t make sense. For example it’s stated several times not to drink cold or iced or raw foods, however, most recipes are that!

This is a Holistic way to handle your Immune System Brain located in your Belly -- Great Learning Tool
This book is the best in learning how your human digestive system works. I was astounded with the knowledge I gain and had no idea that half of your immune system is in your belly and if your belly is not working right -- then your whole body will not. I have suffered with my belly my whole life and intend to take on the diet plan. The only problem is I found some of the products this doctor recommends I have never heard of such as is eating Mung Beans -- Sticky Rice -- Leeks. But, I did find where you can buy the beans here on Amazon. The diet I believe I may be able to follow. Basically, the first 2 or 3 days you fast. I'm disappointed she does not say if you can eat a little something if you take medications. I have to eat a little something with my meds or I will be belching before too long.As well, she recommends consuming a tablespoon of Apple Cider in the morning. It is part of cleaning out your liver. I don't know if my stomach can handle apple cider vinegar -- especially every morning and by itself. I will try it if I can though. I do plan on using the vinegar as an holistic way to fight Ebola if I ever come down with it.I highly recommend this book especially if you have digestive problems -- and to buy it to gain vast knowledge of how your stomach and colon digests food and works. You will be quite surprised at what you do not know. The diet -- you may not be able to follow all aspects of it -- but the recipes given for the protein drinks -- the sticky rice -- the rice cakes you can. I plan to attempt to follow the entire plan to give my digestive system a break.I would love to be able to travel for an office visit with Dr. Bhatia. I'm so over it with the mainstream doctors.
