Easy construction. Really solid.
Great welds and paint. Very well made. Be sure that your 4x4s are groomed to fit in (fairly easy). Keep a mallet handy. Think ahead of how you can and cannot maneuver and assemble pre constructed pieces (i.e. 4-way in assemblance with corners from another like set). I used a couple of ladders to help with the weight and positioning of these heavyweight pieces of PT wood. A multi-ladder in best with the ability to adjust the height then shim with wood spacers on the in-betweens. Do not assemble pieces THOUGH YOUR LADDER!!! Ha ha. Good luck.

Decent quality
The metal is a little thinner than those of a higher price. Product worked well and should last a long time. Easy to use. Looks great. Good value for the money.

Nice product and fast delivery, Haven't used it yet as waiting for another set for the ends that another company dropped the ball on. Had to reorder and should be here soon.

not a kit - two left sided elbows instead of mirrored elbows
this "kit" is not a kit, it came with two of the same sided elbows, not mirroring elbows, so I wasted money on something I will never be able to use. While the frame will easily accept a 4x4 timber, the kit doesn't have the right configuration of the elbow pieces to make work. There is no way to just flip the elbow to use it for the upper right and left corners. I just have two left corners.

The perfect kit for our needs
We were in the planning stage for a new equipment shelter on the back of our shop to keep some of the farm implements under cover when I happened upon this pergola bracket kit. It's just the ticket. The angles are exactly what we had planned, so now it's just a matter of rounding up the lumber. We are very impressed with the weight and thickness of the metal components in this kit. The fasteners seem adequate, but my husband is a stickler for beefy fasteners, so we will probably upgrade some of those. Now we're excited to get started on this project and tidy up the equipment yard. I'll try to remember to post a photo when the job is finished.

It works if you know what you're doing
I read the reviews about the gap between the wood and bracket. First of all, go buy a 4x4 from 3 different places and you will not find the exact same dimensions between the three. If there is a gap, you shim. It's not hard to do and if done properly then it also looks good.Your structure should be braced. These are connector bracketsd and not designed for anything but connecting one 4x4 to another. Bracing is what gives your pergola strength from swaying, not brackets. If you aren't properly adding 45 degree angle braces to your corners (on both sides and every side) then stop and rethink things. For each post and has a beam that beam needs a diagonol brace at least 3 and preferrably 4' long. If the brace is less than 3' it does almost nothing. Thre are metl plates you can buy that go on the outside of the braces for even more strength and to help prevent the braces from slipping but in any case, a pergola without bracing isn't smart. If you brace at each corner, on both side of a center post and also at the top going inside at 45 degrees, you'll have a strong pergola.[]---- ----[]: :: :[]---- ----[]The dots are the braces. The distance after the dots can be anything but those braces should be 3' minimum and 4' is best.___________________[] / \ [][] / \ [][]/ \ [][] [][] []No metal bracket will make up for the lack of bracing. Bracing ALWAYS goes from post to beam on the inside, not out side. That way the load transfers to the post and not screws.A note about the included screws. Remember, these are metal connectors and not the structural component. The screws are there only to keep the 4x4 where it's supposed to be, they are not structural. If you like, simply buy some Simpson structural screw and use them but again, they aren't providing the structure, proper bracing does that.
