My kid loves it
Im giving this 5 stars over all because of the amount of joy this has brought my child. He even woke me up 3 times the first night he got it just to tell me how much he loves it lol. That being said, I did see some rust spots on it, and it does seem a little flimsy or loose on the bolt, I have a feeling his dad will have to fix it sooner than later. But I mean...for the price, Ima go ahead and say 5 stars since it has made this child so happy!

Very nice quality toy!
Very nice! My son loves it! I feel like it is a quality toy that is not only beautiful, with the wood grain, but it looks like we can hang on to it for a long time!

Good quality
Reviewing this a year after purchase, it hasn't broken yet and still works properly. When it arrived, it was a bit nicked up, but nothing that dampened the quality. After sliding the bolt back and forth a lot the screw holding it on started coming out. I put some thread sealant on the threads and it hasn't caused trouble since. The stock is a bit small.

Spot on replica
I ordered this for my 13 year old history buff. He says it’s an exact replica and he loves it.I think it actually pretty nice for the money I spent, I was expecting something that looked cheap and flimsy, I got the exact opposite. The shipping was extremely fast. I’ll be looking to purchase more from this seller in the future.

gift to a 5 year old gun enthusiast
I bought this gift for a neighbor's son who was turning 5 and a gun enthusiast. I would not have bought it for anyone else except this child as his folks allow him to watch documentaries about guns and their uses. This child knows more about guns than I ever care to know! Put it this way, this child's cake was a shape of a gun--surprise, surprise! This toy gun is really life-like and a good thing it has an orange tip as required by law, so it looks somewhat like a toy. There is a larger to-scale version, that may or may not have the orange tip but too long for a 5 year old child. Not only did I purchased this toy for its life-like qualities but also for its proposed durability as mentioned in the product description. It is made of solid wood and steel working parts. It appears to be well made and sturdy. Also, it has the bolt action that simulates the real bolt action of a trainer rifle. In addition, the one great thing is that this gun does NOT shoot out any objects, which is ideal for a child whom is not so responsible about what he may aim at, whether my own child or any other living creature. As far as this type of toy goes, it seems to be a nice quality, maybe even a keepsake type toy that will endure some rough use. It seems to be super fun for the child I purchased it for, but maybe boring for a child with no interests in weapons. Regarding its educational properties, well, it does not rate high up on MY list of products for educational purposes.

Way over priced!
I have never left a review but felt I needed to so others don’t over pay for a toy that is nowhere near worth $50. I’m extremely disappointed I paid this much for such a crappy gun. The gun is very cheaply made, the bolt assembly doesn’t even line up on the gun. The gun arrived beat up and scuffed up like it was used and not new. The barrel of the gun is bent to one side. The chrome plating on the back of the bolt assembly is partially peeling off. The bolt is very difficult to operate for a 10 year old boy. It looks like a gun I would pay maybe $10 for a the Dollar Store. Definitely NOT! a $50 gun!!

Fun toy
After spending a weekend camping at Gettysburg Pennsylvania my son was begging to get a rifle so he could play civil war. I'm not a huge fan of kids playing with guns, but he was so interested in the battle of Gettysburg and they history of it all that I decided to get him this toy. The gun is made of metal, wood and plastic. It feels very sturdy and has a very realistic bolt action. My son will sometimes pretend to us the gun as the bolt action rifle and other times he just clicks it and pretends it a regular rifle. He as played with it for a few days now, and I can't see any major wear or damage, which is a big deal as he is really rough on his toys and tends to destroy things quickly. I can see some of the paint chipping off in the future but that will just give it that loved look. Overall my 8 year old son has been very happy with this toy and has been playing with it continuously over the last 5 days, which is a breath of fresh air since kids today tend to want to be on some type of electronic 24/7.
