Would not buy again
Put this fan in my tractor cab after a year of very little use it vibrated like crazy when off. I discovered the blade is poorly attached to the shaft. I had to tack weld it on with my welder . Poor designed won’t last

Good Buy
Very heavy duty (that's why I bought it). Works great with the 12v 36watt transformer I bought separately.I originally bought it to mount on my towmotor at work. The maint. guy and I assumed it was a 12v system, after it arrived and I bothered to read the specs on my standup, we found out it was actually a 24v system. So I bought the right one (24v to keep it simple - k.i.s.s.), and I use this one at home. Yes, I could have returned it, but it's such a nice fan I decided to keep it around the house.Would highly recommend..

I'm happy
Seems to be very heavy duty and holds up well. Best part is it makes tons of air and keeps me cool in my log skidder. Would have given it 5 stars but after a month the low speed quit working. Only have high now but it's usually on high anyways.

Heavy fan and base, but with a weak connection between them.
Out of the box, the fan weighs 3 pounds, 6 ounces. The fan shround has a prominently displayed label reading Cleveland, Ohio. The fan motor itself has a smaller made in China label. I tested the fan for sound in a quiet room with an ambient decibel reading of 31. With the fan on low, sound was 70 dB at 3 feet, and 78dB on the high speed setting. To my ears, the fan motor makes a high-pitched sound, almost a whine that reminds me of my Dremel tool. Not quite dentist drill high, but still annoying. The fan and base are sturdy and heavy, but they are connected by a 1/8 inch thick "L" bracket with a pressed in fitting. This is the Achilles heel of this fan. The ball joint, supposed to allow adjustment, was impossible to move by hand, with the bracket eventually bending. I eventually got it to move by using firm blows with a rubber mallet on the base while holding the fan on my workbench with a clamp. That was after liberal application of WD40. The adjustment feature was still impossible to move by hand without further bending of the bracket. If you buy this fan, use it in it's original upright position and forget that it is supposed to have an adjustment feature. The fan base serves as the ground - there is no dedicated ground wire. The power wire exits to bottom of the base. The base will require a 2 1/2 x 1 7/8 inch flat surface to accomodate all of its 4 mounting holes. The 4 mounting screws sent with the fan are short - they will penetrate only 1/4 inch into the mounting surface. This will probably suffice for mounting to a solid metal panel. Overall, this fan would deserve a better rating from me if the fan-base connection wasn't so flimsy, and the adjustment feature actually functioned.

Don’t buy the cheaper vetsion
Had these installed in my horse trailer to give more ventalation while traveling to rodeos. After reading the reviews on a lot of fans I went with these because they were said to put out lots of air. Glad I did. They work really well and Florida horses are more comfortable on the road.

Blows lots of air but can't tilt or swivel
If you want a fan that moves a lot of air - this model is what you need. Be aware though that once it is mounted in position, you are not going to be able to aim it anywhere else - mine is designed to tilt and swivel but if I were to try and move it, the fan would rip out of its mountings - it does not move on the ball at all.
