Love the art and the story is iconic
This art and story was so addictive. I am a first time comic book reader. I did not grow up reading comic books. I am a 29 year old woman so it is very new to me. I am a graphic designer so I love drawing so I was curious about the art and story. My son who is 9 constantly has me going to the movies to see every Marvel movie opening day and of course we saw Man of Steel and we bought and saw the entire Batman Trilogy on Blu-ray in one weekend. I wanted to read some into the characters. Needless to say I am hooked. I have read Hawkman which I absolutely loved hope to see a movie with him and hawkgirl one day. Justice League New 52 have couple of them on my kindle app and have just ordered Batgirl volume one. I have been told I need to go to a comic store to pick up some used ones but for now I like to read the hardcovers so I can read the entire set at once. Hope this will help out the newbies like me.

Unbeatable Superhero Fun!
The much hyped, much publicized, and often controversial, relationship between Superman and Wonder Woman became DC's new status quo back in Justice League #12. Since then, the comic book community has been alive with celebration, curiosity and heated debate.A year ago, DC hired writer Charles Soule and artist Tony Daniel to further develop and deeper explore the possibilities of this exciting new concept. The result has been one of the most widely praised, critically acclaimed superhero comics on the market.Charming characterization, gorgeous cinematic artwork, thrilling fight scenes -- Superman and Wonder Woman versus Zod and Faora ... how can you go wrong? -- and an overall epic atmosphere of action, adventure and romance.Superhero comics don't get much better than this!My only criticism is in regards to the art. Don't get me wrong, the artwork is amazing. There are just 2 minor imperfections:1. Due to monthly deadlines, as is often the case in several mainstream comics, some fill-in artists were required for a few pages. Therefore there are some noticeable moments where the style changes. While this may be a bit jarring at times, it doesn't occur very much; nor does it diminish the final product.2. The double page spreads look better in the single issue format. Because of the book spine, the images which spread across two pages are slightly distorted. This is not an uncommon problem with collected editions but isn't too much of a problem either.Overall, 'Superman/ Wonder Woman: Power Couple' is an epic amount of fun. Hopefully, DC will be publishing many more volumes of this series for years to come. I highly recommend this book to anyone even remotely interested in the superhero genre.

Tremendous First Volume with Plenty of Fun from New 52's Brand New Couple
It may have thrown purists for a loop when the New 52 Superman ending up in a relationship with Wonder Woman instead of Lois Lane, but I actually really enjoyed this pairing for what it was. The first volume of this series was easily my favorite as the pairing deals with both the travails of dating while enjoying newfound celebrity as the world's most powerful superheroes as well as juggling their secret identities. The main arc of the story sees Supes and W.W. running afoul of General Zod of Krypton who at first seems to be a gentleman simply seeking to connect with his fellow Kryptonian survivor. However, after being allowed access to the Fortress of Solitude, Zod releases his lieutenant and lover Faora from the Phantom Zone and prepares his plan of invading Earth with his military forces still trapped within the Zone. The story becomes a fun twist as two established lovers take on our two fledgling ones. The story gets an added wrinkle when Zod and Faora are powered up by Diana's trouble-making God siblings who don't take kindly to her new relationship with Supes. Overall this was a tremendous first offering for this series and the only real problem I have with it is that the series couldn't maintain this level of fun and quality throughout. Later volumes are either dragged down by relationship drama (Diana first wonders if she can stay with Clark when he can't accept her newfound role as God of War which means killing people and then later with Clark questioning his commitment to Diana after she uses the Lasso of Truth on his friends against his wishes) or by too many event tie ins (the second volume is incredibly broken up to a casual reader as it is all direct tie-ins to the Superman Doomed storyline).
