Okay. I have to admit that the fact that this product is made in China and packed in plastic made me too afraid to try it. I saw that it was distributed by a U.S. company but missed the small print that says that it's packed in China. With no guarantee of food safety, I'm not going to chance it.

These Shirakiku Seasoned Bamboo Shoots came exactly as pictured vacuum-sealed in plastic. Seasoned and ready to toss directly into your dish. Great texture - tender, but slightly chewy and fibrous. We made a vegetarian stir-fry tonight and they're the perfect addition of texture and umami flavor so you don't even miss the meat!While they tasted great, my husband and I both thought they smelled strongly like urine especially when we heated them up.

These come lightly seasoned and are delicious added to a stir fry or soup. They are good in place of potatoes with a roast or stewed chicken. These come in a large package and I absolutely could not eat the entire package so I froze appropriate sized portions in the freezer. This has worked well and I can thaw out a portion size and it’s ready to add to a meal. Will be ordering again.

these showed up with an expiration date that was 7 months past. Went straight to the garbage. I could smell them before I even opened the package, it was terrible.

These were delicious. They were mild in flavor so I could ramp up the seasonings and add them to any dish w/out a clash of herbs/spices. The only problem I encountered was I couldn't eat them fast enuf.I had planned to freeze a third of them for future use but too many days passed and I was afraid that they were too close to spoiling. I also could have cooked them and preserved them in oil but I didn't have enuf on hand.I would absolutely order a ton more of these delicious bamboo shoots that I love to cover in cayenne powder and cook on low heat until they crisp up.This turns them into a great crunchy item for noodle dishes.

I opened the box and lifted out the bag and caught a horrible plastic smell. It was overwhelming. I tried these bamboo shoots in a stir fry and I could still taste the awful plastic. So they all went in the garage.
