You can be a good bit aways from the dimmer box and the little car key remote works good. But in order for it to Work the lights has to be dimmable or the box Will Not Work..

Happy the product works as both a remote and dimmer, but the remote distance is too short. Otherwise, solid equipment, and dimmable.

If it was for our own home we’d probably prefer a version that connected to Alexa but since this is for our Airbnb we wanted something that did require connecting to a smart device. This worked perfectly to allow our guest to turn on and off the string lights remotely.

Very much so a plug-n-play item. Pretty self explanatory to install. I’m actually really glad I got this. The remote control is especially convenient!

as stated by other reviewers this unit has quite a few problems.first off the function and design is just clunky and unwieldy.but the main problem is that it only dimmed one outlet of the two; it didn't matter what was plugged into it, only one outlet would dim, and then, as many others reported, it just stopped working.after 2 days.the string lights just went out and the dimmer was no longer working.at all.after trying everything.i am just glad that it didn't blow out or damage my lights.i really really wanted this to work, and i am disappointed.great concept, just terrible execution.this is being returned today.

I purchased this item not expecting much, and fearing the controller would be a real pain. But It works like a dream with two 25-lamp strings of C9 Christmas lights on each receptacle, 100 lamps total. The lights can be controlled on and off from the unit itself. But with it up overhead I use the remote. 4 buttons do it all. One for ON, one for OFF, one for Brightening, and one for Dimming. 100 Christmas lights is a lot of light and not very cozy. I dim mine down about 10 clicks and it gets really nice for me. I'm not sure if it works with LEDs since I haven't tried that. If you're looking for a dimmer of this type, this one may do the trick.
