These simulators can speed up your diag time. If you have a code for an open / out of range airbag or pretensioner circuit:1. put a simulator in place of that component.2. Turn the ignition on.Most cars will do a self test and turn the airbag light off in a few seconds if no problems are current. (Some cars, like Nissan, need to be cleared w/ a scan tool) If the light goes out (or code clears), the component you bypassed is the problem. If it stays on (or code does not clear), the problem is in the circuit between the simulator and the Airbag Module.Here are a few considerations, since nothing is black and white in automotive repair:To prevent accidental deployment, It is advised to disconnect the battery when unplugging / messing with airbag components.These simulators are all 2.3 ohms. Most airbags and pretensioners are between 2 and 3 ohms, so these should work on the majority of vehicles, but there may be a few outside this range.Tip: If you have a open/out of range circuit code for one of the front seats, try unplugging and replug the (usually yellow) airbag connector under the seat.
