Awesome sweet and light coffee
We have been buying a Yirgacheffe coffee from another site well known for low acid coffee, and pay $50 for a 12 oz bag of beans—wonderful notes of citrus, berry and tobacco would best describe its aroma and palette. We love that coffee and have not found another Yirgacheffe to compete in flavor and price until we stumbled on this!!We bought the medium roast here which the beans are a uniform light-medium color, no imperfections. While not as much of a sweet tobacco aroma in the bag compared to our $50 bag of beans, it is still there. We did this as an espresso. It is Very bright, rich and creamy, sweet and tastes even better as it cools. When making coffee from whole beans, research what size grind per roast, per variety, per grams of water to grams of coffee, ph of water, water temperature for type of coffee you’re making, ie, pour over, french press, esspresso, drip. It’s not just grinding coffee and drinking; it’s a skill, an art, requiring practice and lots of taste testing. You get alot of beans here. Get a dark metal airtight can(s) with a rubber gasket latch seal lid. Air and sunlight are bad for the beans. You can freeze it long term (several months) if air tight. You could store batches in zippie bags then altogether in larger airtight freezable container. Take out what you need. Refrigerator can cause staling from condensation on beans and other aromas to soak into beans.Go ahead, try it!!

A good Yirgacheffe for the money
I am very hard to please when it comes to coffee. Yirgacheffe has been one of my all time favorites and I have tried a few. To me, it is more than just another cup of coffee and a way to start the day. It is an experience that transports me to Africa. I feel like this brand is very good. I love the packaging and design. When you open the bag, the smells are on point. Very fragrant. You can smell the fruit. The colors are nice too. I use a French Press to make the coffee. Nothing too extravagant. Overall, I think this one is good, but it is not the best Yirgacheffe that I have had. Still worth 5 stars for the value though. You can tell that a lot of pride went into making this.

Good quality coffee
This is definitely one of the best coffees we ever had the taste is great and the beans are fresh, pricier that other coffees but that is something you should expect when you buy exotic beans, be aware that is light roast and the caffeine concentration is really high (more than normal), if you are sensitive to caffeine this coffee will put you up to the roof, Ive been drinking coffee since Im 3 years old, i picked coffee when I was young, with that being said I drink coffee at night before bed to relax and have a good night of sleep, with this specific coffee don't even try that you’ll be wire for over 14 hours bouncing around, worth to mention that this special coffees I brew them im my expresso machine so I extract the best of it.

Stale / Bad tasting coffee
Beautiful bag, but coffee was stale and unpleasant. Tried 1 more time tonight and ended up pouring it out it tasted so bad. Brewed it maybe 7 times and 1 time it turned out decent. Definitely not the amazing Ethiopian Yirgacheffe I expected. Plus it was a Christmas present, which just adds to the bummer factor. Maybe I got a bad batch?

New way to start our mornings
First time trying this brand. We love Ethiopian and Kenyan coffees and this is definitely a lighter roast expression - very floral and some grassy notes, not tart and no bitterness on the finish. Arrival was on the early side of the delivery window and it was packaged well and seems fresh, (no roast date as others have mentioned). We are excited to try other varieties from Orinoco after we get through this one. (2.5 lbs is no joke!)

The Real Thing!!
Several years ago I bought and tasted an authentic Ethiopian Yirgicheff. I absolutely loved it! I thought it was the best coffee I'd ever had. Unfortunately the company disappeared. Since then I've been on a quest to find this amazing coffee again. I can't tell you how many brands I've purchased, and not one lived up to it's name. Then I saw Orinoco. The colorful bag can't help but catch your eye! After all this time, my search is over. The smoothness and floral roast quality are amazing!! The flavor and aroma are wonderful. I am so happy to have found this coffee. I will always be drinkingOrinoco.Raymond C Monette
