Purchased 3x 32" and 9x 24" brackets for my kitchen remodel. We mounted 100+ year old barn lumber onto these successfully. We took off the sheet rock where we wanted these, installed 2x6 between the studs, then installed these on the 2x6, and then finally installed some plywood to flush up against the steel strap. We bricked the wall around the rods and then installed the shelves.Pros:We found these to be heavy duty and could take serious loads. They created a very clean installation which kept people who have looked at it guessing as to how the shelves were mounted on the wall. Installation was straight forward once we figured out how to get the 3/4" inch holes drilled in accurately. Packaging was a sealed bag, steel isn't fragile, so it was adequate for the shipping.Cons:Using a 3/4" bit that I ran about 5" deep into the shelves we found the holes too tight and was a bit tough to get the shelves on. Three factors were a challenge. First, the ends of the rods were finished cleanly, but sharp and could cause binding if the holes weren't perfectly aligned. Had to use a metal file to provide a slight rounding of the edges of a few shelves. Alignment of the rods were not always perfect. What we did to fix that is wiggle the bit left and right to make them easier to slide on up to the last inch or two. We used a rubber mallet to pound the last few inches in for a tight fit.Final thoughts:These were perfect for our use. Get your own screws to mount these. Defiantly install support bracing between the studs to ensure you can do pull ups on your shelves :) Great product. Thanks.

I was looking to build a floating shelf for my projector. Everything i saw out there was for narrow display shelves. This one looked a bit beefier. I actually contacted the seller to explain what I wanted to do, and he said it should work no problem.The bracket is super heavy duty! I put a 2.5" thick, 16" x 16" shelf on it. The shelf itself isn't that heavy, but between the shelf and projector, its a decent weight. The seller said since it was static - meaning you arent constantly putting things on/taking things off the shelf - that it would be fine.I have absolutely zero concerns on the stability of the shelf.One thing to look out for - you need a BIG drill bit to make the holes to accept the rods from this bracket. I feel like I have a decent collection of tools, and I didnt have anything even near this size. The bit I got at Lowe's cost about $15 - which got me both the diameter of bit I needed plus the length. A normal size drill bit wont be long enough. The seller might consider bundling an appropriate drill bit with this bracket and it's not a common size/length for a typical DIY'er. I didn't remove a star because the product itself is great - very sturdy, and comes with all the dimensions you need to make sure you are drilling your holes in the right place.

This is extremely well built and very sturdy. The only issue is that the guide for drilling holes is the exact size as the bracket rods. After drilling the holes w the guide, you'll need to remove the guide and clean up the holes, removing an 1/8" of material unless you want to use a lot of force to mount the shelf to the bracket... and forget ever removing it

Ordered 4 supports for a 8 foot long, 9" wide, 2" thick poplar board. The supports work great and and I could have used only 3 supports and it would have been just as sturdy. The installation of the supports was was easy and straightforward. I attached the supports directly to the studs by cutting away the drywall as recommended. Transferring those locations to the shelf was tricky. I used a different drill bit guide to drill the holes in the shelf because I thought I had a 3/4" bit already but I did not so it would have been cheaper and easier to buy the one recommended with these supports. I also didn't have a 6" long 3/4" drill bit but I have an 3/4" flexible auger bit (3 feet long) which gave me the extra depth needed for the supports. For my long shelf it was difficult to line up the supports to the back of the shelf since there is little to no clearance from the 3/4" drill bit in addition to supports not aligning straight with the studs. Even after loosening the supports to allow them to align themselves the shelf was difficult to slip over the supports. I tried mounting the shelf with 2 supports and it was much easier to slip the shelf on and off but it had a little too much give in the middle due to being unsupported. Adding in the additional 2 supports made the shelf much sturdier but greatly increased the difficulty aligning everything. If you are only using 2 supports it's not an issue but for a long shelf it is very fiddly.

Took me months to actually get around to installing them but I'm super happy with the results (so is the wife!). These are working great, I used them to install a mantle over my fireplace. My contractor told me I could have just glued it to the top of the brickwork but I wanted it extra sturdy. These deliver! I might not do this for a really big, heavy mantle without the extra support of the brick below it (I'm more worried about the 50 year old studs in my walls than this product) but for my use case and the relatively light piece of wood I used, it works fantastic. Maybe get 2 sets if you are hanging something really heavy. I planned on gluing the wood to these brackets and to the brick below but I don't think it's fully necessary. I kinda like the idea of maybe swapping out the piece of wood if I get bored of this one.Make sure you have a nice 13/16" auger bit and/or the right equipment (and knowhow?) to drill the holes, I had a heck of a time drilling the holes in the back side of the mantle but I think that's mostly on me.10/10 would purchase again.
