Sure, look around where you live and you will see moss growing in full sunlight. Fire moss is an example and grows in cracks in concrete in sidewalks, etc. However, mood moss is very sensitive to sunlight.

Q: how do i keep it alive?

It's really easy Ravi, just use a water bottle with a spray nozzle and spray it once or twice a week. Less if you are using it in a terrarium. Enjoy!

Q: Does this have any insecticide? I want to put some moss in the terrarium of my pet praying mantis, but I want to make sure it's safe

Moss is treated with an organic repellent to reduce stowaways, and can be sent untreated upon request.
