great book for a road trip!
I’ve been to all corners of the country but haven’t been to many states in between.Offbeat North America by Lonely Planet would be a great companion to take with you! This beautiful book has great tips for first time travelers, and insider knowledge to support local businesses. One of my favorite things about Offbeat North America is, they give advice to enjoy your trip crowd free. While I love traveling, an overcrowded spot can get overwhelming sometimes!Offbeat North America includes hidden gems from each of the USA’s 50 states, along with Canada, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. I’ve been to Canada, Mexico and the DR, but I would enjoy all of it even more with this book by my side!“Perfect for curious minds, this inspiring guide is a must-read for anyone dreaming of, or planning, a sustainable adventure in North America. Gift this unique book to the traveler in your life or simply keep these off-the-beaten track destinations all to yourself.”

Amazing Travel Guide
I was thrilled to receive a copy of this drool-worthy travel guide. The pictures don’t do this coffee table book justice. It weighs 3 pounds, 6 ounces, and is bigger than my neighbor’s cat. It’s equally gorgeous and succinct. Each area gets two pages of text and bullet points describing an area off the beaten path with tips and techniques for making the most of your visit: when to go, how to get there, and how to get around once you arrive. It’s compelling and addictive, especially with the stunning pictures throughout. As I flipped through the pages, I couldn't help but reminisce about the states we’ve lived in (eight!) or visited (all but four?). This personal connection made the book even more enjoyable. However, a word of caution: this book, like all Lonely Planet publications, is a surefire way to ignite your wanderlust. Read at your own risk. 😉

I found myself looking for places I have been like Columbus, Ohio; St. Augustine, FL, and Kansas City, Missouri, and places I could visit in the future. I loved how they mentioned Cincinnati as well. This book will give you hours of enjoyable reading as you discover places that are off the beaten path. I highly recommend Offbeat North America!Thank you to the publisher for my gifted copy. All opinions are my own.

Made by AI
The maps are disastrous. I didn’t know that both North Carolina AND Georgia are now known as “Mississippi.” Also Nova Scotia is now called “Prince Edward Island” and the countries of Central America no longer exist. Seriously, I think they had AI write this and make the maps and didn’t even bother to proof it.
